After the release of our new Panzer IV series, we had found an issue relating to one of the 75mm gun barrels which might affect some of our customers.

Some background history – there were THREE gun variations used on the Panzer IV.  A “75mm KwK L/24” gun was used with Ausf A through F1 variant, then a “75mm KwK 40 L/43” on Ausf F2 and G, and finally a “75mm KwK 40 L/48” on the Ausf H and J.  The “L/xx” denotes the length of the gun barrel.

When we designed our Panzer IV, all gun barrels were drawn and catalogued.  However, during the sprue layout process, the L/48 gun barrel file was misplaced and somehow was lost in the production cycle.  Despite multi-level checking and quality control, we had failed to identify the error until the products were released.

We are now in the process of updating “Sprue A” from the Panzer IV kit to including the missing L/48 barrel.  The mould revision will take about 30 days if everything is as planned.

With immediate effect, we are stopping the sales of the following two item codes until the end of August:

   280077 Panzer IV Ausf F/F2/G/H
   280078 Panzer IV Ausf J

For those who had purchased the above kits and felt the need of the missing L/48 barrel can write to us at service@rubiconmodels.com.  We will send you the missing gun barrel when it becomes available.  Please provide us with the following information when you send us the email:

   1) Name
   2) Email Address
   3) Mailing Address
   4) Contact Number (required by courier)

We are sorry for the mistake we made during our production cycle.  Quality control had always been a top priority at Rubicon Models; an internal review is now underway to make sure this will never happen again.  Thank you for your continuous support.

For Panzer IV Ausf H & Ausf J Customers:

To all customers who had previously purchased one of the following Panzer IV kits who think they needed an L/48 gun barrel replacement:

280077 Panzer IV Ausf F/F2/G/H
280078 Panzer IV Ausf J

Instead of sending you a new plastic Sprue A, we are sending you the newly announced metal L/48 gun barrel (with muzzle brake) as a FREE replacement!

If you think you needed the missing L/48 barrel, you MUST register with us by EMAIL to "service@rubiconmodels.com" with the following info:

1) Name,
2) Email address,
3) Shipping address,
4) Contact number (required by courier),
5) Purchase from our webstore or through a retailer?
6) If through a retailer, please specify the name.

You MUST provide the above info in full to be eligible.  If you had already registered, you DO NOT need to send your request again.

We will send out the metal barrels from Hong Kong to our US and UK warehouses; they will ship the barrels to your mailing address.  Please allow time for us to process all requests.

For retailers, simply let us know your current stock numbers for the two items and we will send you the required replacements.
