Yes, I think this will be popular.  A nice choice of subject.  Looks as though there is a good choice of crew figures as well.

The soft stowage still looks a bit odd - sort of lumpy.  And why does it have 2 steering wheels?

If your talking about the stowage on both front fenders , its a canvas roll with wooden strips to use as a traction mat in the sand . Sort of like the Bobbin on the AVRE , just a lot smaller

Yes I know, Ripley.  But it doesn't look right.  Rubicon still seem to struggle with depicting soft stowage.

I think it might just be the CAD picture . The soft stowage I thought was too smooth or weird looking I painted in liquid green stuff and stippled on texture .

We have painted up our Chevrolet WB 30cwt truck TS1 plastic after finishing the factory QC report for preview...
Different gun choices and two sets of crew for either LRDG or SAS.

Enjoy!

There is a thread on the Lead Adventures forum discussing LRDG in 20 and 28mm scales.
http://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=115148.msg1441170#msg1441170
What has come up is the absence of stowage in the displayed images.

Will there be additional stowage in the box, or will there be additional stowage sets coming out at the same time?

I know there are the two existing stowage sets, but there is also the additional sets specifically for the Jeep.

The models look very good.  But please remember the SAS didn't use these vehicles.  That's why I originally suggested changing the headgear(although some LRDG crews did wear Arab-style headress).  Hopefully you haven't done the box art referring to SAS crew already.

Personally , I think the Truck has the gear in the kit ( sand channels , canvas rolls , spare tire  ) that were issued with the vehicle . Everything else , fuel , ammo , weapons in various amounts  etc would be added depending on the number of crew and the mission . We'ld have to dig in to our own parts box to depict the vehicle we are modelling , but that's OK by me . I would rather have to add stuff  to the kit than try to remove a box or fuel can from a single molded pile .

I certainly agree - especially about removing stuff from a moulded pile.

What would be nice would be some additional kit beyond what is in the two stowage sets. Soft stowage I can do, but ammo boxes etc would be nice. But then I am after 40mm ammo boxes.

It would be nice to get some specific ammo boxes for all sides . I've cast up my own Russian 45/76mm ( same size box ) and 85mm ammo boxes  but really need 25 pdr boxes to attach to my Shermans and various other Allied vehicles in need of water tight stowage . I think there are some in the Brit LVT crew set  but as its molded in resin ( IRC ) its going to be a bitch to break down the large casting into separate pieces . That's the problem I see with large stowage castings , they  only really fit in the vehicle series they were made for while single pieces can be put any where you want . Hopefully Rubicon take the chance and release some ammo box blister packs , they are quite popular in other scales , especially 1/35 . Heck , AFV even make 25 pdr boxes as a single plastic sprue for sale as a blister pack ( 4 boxes in total ) .

Preliminary decal design for Chevrolet 30cwt truck.

Decals included 3 New Zealand patrols - R, T, and W; plus the Guards version. What do you think?

Comments welcome before we send it to print

Enjoy!
