Looking good . I assume the gunner on the running board is really for the gun in the rear . Don't think I've ever seen pictures of guys firing the gun from there , that's the co drivers job  :D

LRDG vehicle crews didn't all wear turbans and shorts.  That's more of an SAS hallmark.  An LRDG crew would be far more varied, as they brought their own personal equipment from whichever part of the armed services they had been in.  They had a motley appearance, with various types of headgear and clothing - including battledress (with long pants), non-uniform jackets, woolen caps and slouch hats.

The standing gunner can be posted in front or at the rear holding the MG (there will be two MG choices).  While at the front, you can omit the sitting passenger.  ;)

We are doing these as "generic" plastic crew and the heads are separate anyway.  We will do additional LRDG crew with different poses, headdress and gear at a later stage.

They're not really 'generic' - they're basically SAS...

We have revised two of the three digital sculpts with uniform changes to give them a more LRDG look...
Appreciate input from you guys!  ;)

Enjoy!

That's a vast improvement.  Especially the driver.  Any chance of some optional headgear, for variety?  Then one could have a slouch hat...

Shiny shiny shiny shiny....
Now this I am enthusiastic about.

Good start on the Lewis gun (must convince Anvil to do an Heroic scale one with optional mag).

I would be looking at these for Free French transport.  They are pretty motley crew, but any head options that particularly work for them would be quite welcome!

With a head swap those guys could work in various Commonwealth armies . I hope Rubicon releases them in figure blister pack

The LRDG vehicles were mainly two-wheel drive, chosen because they were lighter and used less fuel than four-wheel drive. They were stripped of all non-essentials, including doors, windscreens and roofs. They were fitted with a bigger radiator, a condenser system, built up leaf springs for the harsh terrain, wide, low-pressure desert tyres, sand mats and channels, plus map containers and a sun compass. Wireless trucks had special compartments built into the bodywork to house wireless equipment.

Initially, the LRDG patrols were equipped with one Canadian Military Pattern (CMP) Ford 15cwt F15 truck for the commander, while the rest of the patrol used up to 10 Chevrolet 30cwt wide-body (WB) trucks.

The 30cwt truck is a 2-sprue kit with a multi-slide mould cab body, comes with 5 plastic LRDG crew, stowage, and weapon options.

Enjoy!
