Jentz & Doyle's latest Panzer Tracks Jadgpanther says the box was a sPzAbt 654 unit modifcation , not the 1st time in the last 30 ( ? ) years they have corrected themselves . There seems to be new info coming out every year for German stuff , every month it seems for Russian WW2 stuff

Second driver's periscope plugged than removed from production in Feb 44 ( so how many built with 2 , and how many have plug visible before redesigned for one ? )Pistol ports removed as well ( don't think I've ever seen any JP with ports , early Panther D , yes ) The jack was moved from lower rear hull ,like on Panther D to vertical between exhaust pipes when tow lug was added mid lower rear . Sorry can't find any photos of 1st jack stowage on JPs
