The GAZ AA ( single rear axle , AAA double rear axle ) was a licensed copy of the Ford  , just look up pictures of 30s Ford trucks . I'm sure as the war went on the Russians changed the design to save time , money and material ( early  war - metal cab , late war- wood cab ). Even down to just 1 headlight instead of 2 .  With a different rear cargo body ( metal ) would it work in the North Africa war zone ( Free French ? )  Might pass as a old farm truck used by the Resistance in parts of Europe , or in  a Waltons family diorama for those of you old enough to remember the 70s TV show  ;D

From our viewpoint, there are already enough tanks out there to fill a tabletop...

Not in plastic there aren't.  Nor are there any armoured cars in plastic.

Not sure if you also want a GAZ-AA too?

Enjoy!

Yes. Variety is the spice of life! I think it's a particularly good idea when the new model has much in common with an existing one. In my ignorance I imagine it would require less investment on Rubicon's behalf than a completely different kit.

I think the AA was far more numerous than the AAA and deserves a place for that reason. I tend to agree with Pinky on the priority of armoured vehicles over trucks. Nonetheless the simple answer to your question is yes.

I think the AA was far more numerous than the AAA and deserves a place for that reason.

There were more than 985,000 GAZ-AA produced during WW2.  As for the GAZ-AAA, there were over 37,000 being build until 1943.

I tend to agree with Pinky on the priority of armoured vehicles over trucks.

The GAZ-AAA is a base kit for most Soviet armoured cars... so there is a need to build the truck first!

Of course the Germans were heavy users of captured examples as well.

If you can manage a Ford variant as well that would be good.

With you here, while I'm trying not to start any completely new armies, (really fighting the urge to do some Soviets) a Ford version would be rather useful in a number of games (Strange Aeons, Pulp Alley etc) & as nice as the pewter Sloppy Jalopy version is, trucks are so much less of a pain in plastic.

Might not be able to update the forum until early May as everyone at the studio is busy with preparing displays for Salute.
These two GAZ trucks are going to be shown to the public for the first time at the show...

Enjoy!

I see from the Facebook site there is also a T-26 in the works.  Is it resin or plastic.
