The Opel Blitz series of 3-ton trucks proved the true backbone of German military strength in World War 2.  Production began in 1937 and proceeded into 1944 to which some 70,000 2x4 Opel Blitz trucks were delivered out of German factories.

Our Opel Blitz project is a well-kept secret especially for Salute 2015.  Features include:
- A 2 sprue plastic kit
- Single piece truck cabinet for ease of assembly
- Truck side boards can be assembled in open or closed position
- Detachable canvas top with rear tarpaulin in open or closed position
- 2 headlights options - standard or small blackout lights
- Optional accessories such as reflector, searchlights, spare tire, and fuel cans

Very Nice  . I can see some conversions with quad 20mm flak guns in my future . Any thought to making the Maultier  version of this truck ?

The current setup of the Opel Blitz project is a base kit, much like the SdKFz 251D and the M3 half truck.  Will be adding expansion kit(s) to it... you will be amazed!

There is so much scope for add-ons with this kit, and if you're using slide-moulding then presumably you can squeeze a few variants into a larger box.

One question - does the kit have the 'Opel Blitz' logo?  If so, is it okay to use it?  I've noticed a lot of kit manufacturers don't use logos of existing vehicle manufacturers, apparently due to legal claims by the owners of the logo.

Due to production budget and retail price constrains, we will not be providing window/windshield pieces.  Instead, we will provide cut-out templates on the instruction sheet for those who wanted to include windshields.

Sounds fine to me - I think models in this scale look okay without windscreens.

Templates are a great idea . Always liked window glass in my vehicles , sometimes trying to make your own wind screen takes longer than building the original kit

For those who had been following this project, we have encountered some discrepancies about the rear opening of the canvas top, namely the tarpaulin that is covering the rear end of the truck.  There seems to be several designs used by various army groups during different period of the war.  Would like to do a more common/generic version... any good suggestions or references?
