Many customers had requested a Production Schedule from us. We are now releasing a "tentative" schedule for your information.
This will not include any unannounced projects as every time we announced something, other manufacturers will soon follow!

This is going to be an expensive year for my Americans!

So should the German stowage kit and decal sets be available at local retailers now?

There will be a few weeks delay. The box labels are printed incorrectly and need to be reprinted. Sorry for the delay.

That's a shame - my credit card is poised and ready to take a beating...
Did you change the box art for the SdKfz 251 3-in-1 kit? There's a version of the /7 on your Facebook page which looks much better - correct colours and more detail.

We are continually upgrading our existing products (decals, sprues, box arts), not just new releases... a commitment to our customers!
Once our stock run out, we will replace them with new upgraded batch if needed.

That's awesome! I don't suppose you would consider an upgrade to the T34 tracks? I think it should be possible to get something that looks more realistic. I love the kit overall, but the tracks leave me somewhat flat.

The T-34 tracks (and another one piece tracks) is a design issue for any two piece plastic injection mould. We simply cannot put any details on the sides because of undercut issues. When we were at the product concept design phase, we had debated how to go around this issue, and we decided to do a single piece track instead of complicating the track assembly -and- most important of all - provide ample sprue space to include various options and variants for the vehicle!
-
I appreciate that difficulty. I was hoping for something more realistic on the surface that you can mold - at least interlocking links of track, at best the waffle pattern.
Thanks for taking the time to respond.

Last update on Production Schedule for 2015... Please read first post above!
-
Thanks for the updated list.
Even without the M4A3 kit, that is a great lineup of US armour. Once the Jeep and CCKW are out, you'll have most of the bases covered - at least in terms of the latter part of the war. I guess an M7 Priest, an M4A3E8 Sherman and maybe an M24 Chaffee would round things out (although I suspect the wargamers would prefer an M4A3E2 Jumbo), but this is already a really good range of models.
A shame about the delayed release of what was intended for Q4/2015. I hope that doesn't mean a big delay on what was going to be released in Q1/2016 - I have plans for the SdKfz 251 kit! Did you finalise the decals for the M10/M36 and the M8/M20?
As for the need to be more secretive, it would be unfortunate if we aren't all able to see and comment on your projects, but it does feel as though you're being tracked by 'others'.

The M7 will have to wait... it will be after we have done all versions of the M4 tracks / suspensions / road wheels / lower chassis / hulls / turrets first!
We are trying to build up a digital library for all the M4 key parts for future use! It will be a long process. But once done, we will be able to release any M4 variants in a snap!

The delayed Q4/15 releases had nothing to do with mould or decals. It is just bad planning on the pre-production logistic material, namely the color boxes. A lesson well learnt! We have not changed anything on the decals, will stay the same as posted.

The secrecy is something that we don't prefer to do. Even though it is the same vehicle, but when you see a very similar approach to a design, you will always wonder... hmmm!
Lately, we have seen a few "bad-decision" releases from other companies which we think were stemmed from our WIP of similar vehicles. Simply no idea why in terms of market demand or game-based decision.
'We are proud at what we are doing. All our releases are vehicles that are in high demand for both gaming and modeling use; softskins are a good example. With digital miniature sculpting now working smoothly, we will be spending a lot more time to develop our skills in that area. Hopefully a robust new product line for 2016!

I'm not pressing for an M7; I agree that the other Sherman variants would be more useful.

There were a few minor issues with the decals as posted; I guess you had to finalise the kits and move on.

Warlord rushed out a couple of plastic SdKfz 251 variants; the timing did seem more than coincidental. Their M8 kit was announced (by Italeri) several months ago (not long after Rubicon announced they were doing one), but from the photos it looks rather odd; I wonder if they just scaled up their existing 1/72 scale kit? It certainly looks inferior to Rubicon's.

And rightly so. I think your softskins, and vehicles like the SdKfz 250, are going to be extremely popular.
-
Means the M3 Kit a conversion for the M5 light tank "Stuart"?
-
I have no connection to any manufacturer except as a customer.
I find Rubicon's openness about their production schedule engaging, and I am impressed with the agility of their design, prototyping and production.
I suspect that other manufacturers are not so agile, an example being a certain AA tank that was released earlier in 2015. The master may well have been ordered before Rubicon mentioned their intentions. Of course, once a plastic model was announced they would have to find some way to recoup their costs. The Italeri 2015 list has not been delivered and that was only a small number of models. I suspect the PSC style models have had a similar lead time
-
Will be good to have at least one of each of these models !
-
Yes, under the 'Still WIP-Drawing board/3D Prototyping' listing is a M3/M3A1 Expansion Set. Is that for the M3/M3A1 halftrack kit, or for the M5A1 Stuart/M8 Scott kit?

That's for their halftrack - it's intended to include a canopy, and parts for other versions such as the M21.
-
I figured as much. It was just wishful thinking that it would be for the M5A1 Stuart kit

Just curious? What other expansions for the M5A1 do you expected?
FYI, there is an US & Allied Stowage set coming out later this year... with the turret side MG. Also an US tank crew set planned!
;)
-
I didn't't expect an expansion for the M5A1, you had listed an expansion set for the M3/M3A1,and you didn't say halftrack. The M5A1 and M3/M3A1 share the same suspension, and it was only wishful thinking, out loud ,I guess, that I asked the question. I'm up for any early war vehicles.

Sorry for the confusion. Sometimes we also get confused with all these US designations too!
For sure there will be some early war US vehicles coming in 2016!
-
Thanks for the reply. That would be GREAT to see some early war armor released this year. It takes forever for me to convert the Warlord M-4 into a early M-4A1. You guys have been doing an excellent job of releasing new products In the short time that you have been around.Keep up the excellent work!!

We will still continue to post new projects as usual. Just that it will not be at a very early stage like we used to be.
We felt customer feedback are very important to us in building projects.
So does this mean that the Hetzer etc are out?
The Hetzer, together with the M8/M20 and M10/M36 are now available! You can pick them up at your favorite hobby store! ;)

Unfortunately my usual shop (Orc's Nest) does not stock your products, and Dark Sphere had nothing new today.
Ho hum.
I will have to check with the nice people at Weyland's Forge when I am next in Birmingham.
It will give me a chance to finish off the Panzer III and the two T34s.

Orc's Nest was the first wargaming shop I found when I first went to London in 1989. I didn't know it was still around!

a M8 scott crew set ?
It will be nice to have some M3A3 as most of the Free French light tank companies/squadrons had to deal with this tank before winter 44 ( and latter, the M5 were issued as replacement tanks for destroyed ones in the Recce regiments ...

When will the French (ex Neucraft) resin kits be released? Can't see them on the schedule, but knowing that the decals and instructions are all done, I had expected to see them in the next release?

Until ready would it be worth in the interim starting to throw the allied tank crew sprue in with the older kits?
It's not perfect. But it'll give the older stuff such as the Stuarts, M10 and Scott SOMETHING to use??
Just a suggestion.
-
Looking forward to seeing more. :)

More items for Q3/18 releases updated on the first page of this post!

Am waiting for them to be available before picking up a few more Tigers... :P

Do you have a release date for the resin PzIV tracks (especially the Winterketten)?

Do you have a release date for the resin PzIV tracks (especially the Winterketten)?
TBH, we ran into some technical difficulties into reproducing them in resin. We are now looking into solving the issue. Please wait a bit longer! :(
-
I'm happy, (well, happy-ish) to wait for the winterketten if it means a superior product as I now can't envisage my ausf J's without them.
-
Waiting to get a few Scout cars, bedfords and a King Tiger.
-
Just updated our production schedule again with the latest projects. Will post "might be" Q2/19 releases soon, stay tuned!
;)

On the newest update to your production schedule, under the "Mould Making In Progress (or on queue)"section, you list "Carro Armato M13/40 and command" and "Semovente da 75/18". Did you forget to write in blue "resin" , next to the listing, or hopefully, has that been changed to plastic??

Oh good, another nation's tanks available in plastic....
Now, some Perry compatible Italian infantry plastic infantry would be very nice....
-
I think it's going to be resin . IRC , Warlord is supposed to have released a plastic one , but haven't seen it in local shops yet
-
It would be fantastic if they will be plastic kits.
However, RM used the "Roll Eyes" ::), suggesting a mistake.
If RM used "Lips sealed" :-X, then maybe plastic kits.
Sadly, they will be resin. :(

There had not been a lot of regular updates on our projects except for the occasionally posting here and there. First of all, we are really busy with work... almost daily into early mornings. Secondly, competitors are tracking our progress on projects which make us a bit uneasy on posting any updates. Lastly, we don't have the time or manpower to take pictures or create images on many projects.
Anyway, this is a quick rundown of projects and their status that we are currently undertaking. A total of over 40 projects in various stage of design and production! We hope this will give you a glimpse of the long list of tasks that we had to do with each individual project.
If there is an "Item Code" attached to the project, they are basically done awaiting pre-production work, such as assembly instructions, decal sheets, and box arts, etc. We are not updating the FRONT page of this post until we can confirm the exact release dates for these projects.

Regarding:
------ M4A1 Sherman DV & SH
------ M4A1 Sherman LH
Which track options and turrets are coming in each kit? Presumably the first kit is with the "small turret" sprue and the second with the "T23 turret" sprue? Does the Large Hatch kit come with the HVSS and extended VVSS track options (like the M4A3)?

Correct!

So when are they going on the site?

Secondly, competitors are tracking our progress on projects which make us a bit uneasy on posting any updates.
Old post, but I just wanted to comment on the above... which competitors? Warlord/Italeri appear to have given up on their plastics and no-one else makes plastics in 1/56 as far as I know. You guys are way ahead! 8)
-
Hi.
Any chance of updating the production schedule??
Thanks,
Mark
-
I think they’ve pretty much given up on this forum to be honest. Rubicon don’t seem to post here any more. I think they find Facebook reaches a wider audience. Pity, but I suppose there’s only so much time in the day…
-
I think you're right.i don't see much posted on Facebook either though.
-
latest Facebook post about 9 hours ago , plastic Sarahanna (sp ?) Italian armoured car used in desert (plastic ) . Lots of Viet Nam models shown , US / VC troops , M113 , T-35/85 with starfish wheels , Panzer I - tank and command version . Not much love for their own web site I guess . Then again most hobby sites I view are way down on viewers / commenters .
-
I 'm not on Facebook, but I am able to see Rubicon's posts on Facebook, and go there frequently to see the upcoming kits they are working on. I just would like to see an updated production schedule if possible.
-
Im not on FB either but do check a few Game / Model companies pages as they tend to post their new releases there 1st . Pity because this site seems to be slowly fading away . Mind you , lots of hobby / game sites are way down on posts and live stream viewers , covid really messed everything up
-
The current world crisis over the last 2 years had really affected our daily workflow. This is particularly true with our forum and website updates. We can only focus on FB at this point, but expect a major update on the forum soon!
;)
-
Thank you for your response. I look forward to your update.
Thanks
