The mortar looks like it's exploding rather than firing.  Can your artist fix that?  The colour scheme isn't really accurate either for a post-1943 vehicle, but never mind.

The SdKfz 250/8 looks fine.  A bit bland perhaps.  It's odd, but I don't think I've ever seen a photo of one of these vehicles in action.

It took me a while to work out the first one was a mortar carrier, I can now see what the artist was after.

It does look like it is under fire.

Oh and my usual comment about the vision blocks.

The other one is okay, except the strange wheel hubs.

Is the loader asking who picked up the wrong ammo box?

That round does look a bit large.

At the price we are paying for the renderings, we cannot ask for too much.
We cannot use the 3D models we build to do these renderings because the
way we build these models are very different.  We can only "buy" whatever
3D files on the market, make minor changes to fit our purpose, compose
a scene, and then rendered them for box art.

It is always a struggle to get what we wanted.  However, we do come
across some very nice high resolution 3D files, and those renders gave
excellent results.  And again, these box arts are used to attract people
to look at our products, not scrutinizing them like everyone did with
our model kits, lol.

Box art is important though, once you are aiming beyond people who are buying a kit for a specific purpose (most of whom probably don't care).  And good box art helps people without much knowledge of the subject matter to paint and finish their models.  I've seen some negative reviews of Rubicon box art, but I think for the most part it's very effective, and more consistent than Warlord's.   In some cases, however, it looks a bit 'off' - the mortar carrier is a good example.  The figures sometimes look weird as well.  This can undermine the credibility of your products, at a time when they are actually of a very high standard.

This is very true indeed, but finding a good 3D model is sometimes a daunting task.
You don't know what the result will be until you bought the model, work on it and
finally rendering it.

3D figures are the worst.  There is only a handful on the market, plus the models
themselves are terrible to start, especially WW2 Germans; the Soviets are one of
the best we came across so far.  We will definitely continue to improve on our box
arts!

Not a real fan of your box art . This using 3D stuff just dosen't do anything for me ( too old I guess   ::) ) . You might want to go old school like the Tamiya  kit boxes from the 70s , great paintings / drawings of a weathered and weary pieces of heavy metal  ;D . Better yet , use the pictures you post of your built and painted kits . They look great , and it would show prospective buyers exactly what their getting in the box .

We prefer old school paintings too, but the cost to do just one is Soooo EXPENSIVE, we just couldn't afford them.  Particularly if you need to do at least 20+ a year!

I second Ripley's idea of you using pictures of your built up and painted kits as your box art. I know that I was very disappointed to purchase your Panzer III kit, finding that a early Panzer IIIJ ,without the spaced armor for the gun mantle and upper hull, was not an option to build, even though that was the artwork on the box.

The Panzer III was the first 7 kits that we had released all at once.  Then we were a bit rushed & naive, and had not check all the renderings for accuracy.  This is also why we are redoing both the Panzer IV and III for a re-release going forward.
