so a bit more details for those who aren't on facebook
A (Cam)Bridge too far will take place on Saturday 12th March 2016 at Netherhall School in Cambridge. Doors will open at 0830 for early registration, 0900 for normal registration and the day will end at 1700(ish) for awards and prizes.
Provisionally we have a soft cap of 36 players, although we have space to increase this if the demand is there.
The cost is looking to £15, mainly due to start up costs for tables, etc. next year costs should be lower.
On the subject of tables, each one should be themed to various theatres. There will be no standard amount of terrain per table. Some boards like North Africa will be sparse and some like Normandy will be pretty heavy. Boards will however be suitable and more importantly useable.
The tournament pack will be made available and tickets will be available on Saturday 12th September 2015 at 10am.
Although the tournament pack has yet to be confirmed, the following will be the general idea.. Please note that these may be subject to change before the tournament pack is released. Feedback and comments are appreciated.
- 1000 point army
- armies to be chosen from any "armies of" book. Additional units from supplement books can be chosen as long as they have a selector (if unsure, please ask). Any additional unit/army PDFs released by Warlord can also be used. If using units from a supplement book and the points are obviously wrong (and because they're not being FAQd) please use the "correct" points. If unsure please ask.
- generic platoon selectors to be used.
- up to two generic platoon selectors can be chosen and up to one of these can be a generic armoured platoon.
- up to two flamethrowers per army. Up to one of these can be mounted on a non-recce vehicle.
- missions will be pre-announced in the tournament pack.
- no restrictions on allies/axis. In the first round, where possible, opponents will be axis vs allies, then the Swiss system will be used. Where possible people from the same club will not play each other and grudge matches can be requested (although not guaranteed).
- army lists will need to be sent in 2 weeks prior to the event.
- awards will be given for best allied general, best axis general and best minor general, best club/team performance best painted army, most sportsmanship and best historically themed armies. spot prizes and prizes for 2nd/3rd in general categories will be there is there are enough prizes.
Other awards/prizes will be announced.
Missions will be
round 1 - Maximum attrition (slightly altered scoring system to allow minor/major victories)
round 2 - Point defence (slightly altered scoring system to allow minor/major victories)
