A Quick Update – Nov 17, 2014

After the initial release of our six kits together with the Tiger I, we are taking it slow for a little while to catch our breath!  Getting all the boxes packed and make sure everything is shipped to the correct distributors together with all the paperwork, and then getting the websites updated!  And most important of all is the announcement of our possible NEW product line… our 1/56 Modular Building project!

Here is a quick update on what we are doing:

Modular Building - The new project will take some time to develop, but hopefully will see it as a final product first half of 2015.  We would like this to be a “community project” – meaning we wanted your valuable input and feedback on what we have done so far.  All comments are then studied and followed up to make this a better product.  Here is the link for the discussion: http://forum.rubiconmodels.com/index.php?topic=55.0

British Tank – We are now finally working on a British tank.  It will be a three sprue kit packed with as many options and variants as possible.  Still on the drawing table, estimated date of completion – before Christmas!  You should see some 3D prototypes early January 2015.

SdKfz 251 Ausf. D – This German personnel carrier is now in the mould making stage.  No variant, but comes with two canvas top options – half open and closed top.  Great for variety on the battlefield!

SdKfz 251 Ausf. D Variants – Some of the variants are also in the mould making stage.  We will roll out more variants as we move forward.  One of the advantages of these variants is… most are detachable!  That means you can “revert” your half-track variant back into a “standard” personnel carrier if you chose not to glue the option onto the vehicle!

T-34/85 – This Soviet tank is progressing nicely, should see 3D prototype soon!  This T-34/85 is not a reworked or patched up of our existing T-34/76.  It comes with a new turret with 2 mantlet and copula choices, a new set of road wheels, and a new hull!

December Release – We are not going to have a December release!  December is a busy month for shipping stuff, and we are running on a very tight budget right now.  Would rather release more products for the New Year… Jan 2015!

January 2015 Releases – We have not decided what to release yet.  There are some new items that are already done, and act as a buffer between monthly releases.  Will post more information as the New Year approaches!

That’s it for now!  Please enjoy our kits!

 ;)

A Quick Update – Dec 7, 2014

Here is a quick update on what we are doing:

Modular Building Project - We are progressing nicely, making minor changes to make the parts more sturdy and easy to assemble.  Will paint one prototype for visual testing and feedback.

British Tank – Still on the drawing table, the tank is more complicated to draw than we initially anticipated.  The enormous amount of rivets are making our eyes hurt!  To complicate things, we have two urgent customer projects that need to be done before Christmas... further delays!

SdKfz 251 Ausf. D – One more week in the mould making process and we will have our test sprues!  Can't wait!

SdKfz 251 Ausf. D Variants – Again, one more week to go!

T-34/85 – We have just send off the 3D digital file to mould making, should be able to see our first batch of test sprues right after the New Year!  To save us some money, this kit will have 2 new sprues and uses an existing sprue from our T-34/76 kit.  That means parts from both kits are interchangeable...

New Year Surprises - To thank our fans for supporting our small establishment, we have two small surprises installed for you all!  Stay tuned for more announcement at a later date!

That’s it for now!  Please enjoy our kits!

A Quick Update – Jan 8, 2015

Happy New Year and may the dice god be with you all!  Had not been updating our page as often as we wanted, this is because we are busy putting the final touches to our latest releases – the StuG III Ausf. G and the SdKfz 251/1 Ausf. D series, followed by the T-34/85!

Here is a quick update on what we are doing:

StuG III Ausf. G – We have pushed back the official release by a few weeks.  With some constructive feedback from our forum users, we felt it is important to enhance our design with a few improvements.  We would rather lose a few weeks of sales than to let our fans down on details and features!

SdKfz 251/1 Ausf. D – The three kits are coming along nicely.  We are now fine tuning the moulds for the kits.  We are also researching on a new sprue to include more 251D variants.  Please feel free to give suggestions on what you want to see on the next 251D release!  Here is the link for the 251D discussion: http://forum.rubiconmodels.com/index.php?topic=35.0

T-34/85 – Our mould maker is still busy working on the moulds.  There are two new moulds plus an additional one from our T-34/76 kit.  Should see some test sprues by the end of January.

British Tank Project – With the announcement of a British tank project in mid-Nov last year, rather than just random objects on the computer screen; we are starting to see a solid silhouette of the vehicle.  The project is coming along nicely.  Being a British tank, we wanted to make sure the details are correct, don’t want any of our bolt-and-nut counter fans complain too much!

Modular Building – The project has not been forgotten.  We are making minor progress when we are taking breaks doing vehicles.  We will not rush this project until we are happy with what we have.  You can contribute to this project by giving us suggestions and feedback using the following link: http://forum.rubiconmodels.com/index.php?topic=55.0

Other Ongoing Projects – There are at least 3 to 4 other projects that we are working on at a slower pace.  Once our Q1/15 releases are completed, we will move full steam ahead to complete these projects aimed at Q2/15 releases, and then get ready for our Q3/15 jobs!  2015 will be a very busy year for us.  With all the previous FB surveys and wish lists from our forum, we are spending a lot of time on research material.  We have also adjusted our production priority list to reflect demands and requests by our committed fans… we can’t ask for more!

That’s it for now!  In the meantime, please enjoy our released kits!  Buy more to keep us working!
