General Discussions / Re: Panzer stowage location?

Tracks
thank you very much for that pointer to the Pz IV D/E instructions - I had missed that when building the kit. Good pointer also on the wartime photos, though I have a better idea about how the general principles of you stow a tank having been a cold war crewman myself  :)

General Discussions / Panzer stowage location?

Has anyone found instructions for where the stowage included on the sprues of later Pz III and IV kits should go? The tarp/tent rolls in particular have indentations on the back that seem to suggest a particular location is intended but I'm still looking!

Oh my word you guys must be having supply chain problems - I've just looked at six vehicles I might want to buy as a new order and they are all out of stock. And I notice many others. A couple of months back I bought one of your T34s from another supplier for this reason but I would far rather spend the money with you.
Do you have any hope of a re-stock in the coming weeks?

These kits are still some of the best model kits out there, and look fantastic on the gaming table when assembled and painted. More importantly, they go together very easily (and quickly)

I agree entirely Tracks - hence my attempts to buy another T34/76 ! I've commented elsewhere that having recently built the Valentine, which I found a little too much in terms of number of parts + detailing, I think the early kits were a better build for many wargamers. Tho of course I admire Rubicon for striving to make better kits, eg with the Sherman project ...

There's a few things gone out of stock, and I think Rubicon have explained that's due to some of the supply chain disruption of Covid and what have you. But specifically ...
- is the T34/76 coming back into stock at some point or is it being re-designed?
- there's some of the pewter or resin items also gone out of stock, but presumably a different reason for that if not coming from China? Or does it?
cheers

ah yes, I see you did Tracks! Interesting how many of your requests have been met. Agree heartily that a Lee/Grant would also be excellent

agree on the Maus  ;D
like you say EWG, any early model StuG would be good - resin or plastic

oh man EWG - I thought you'd give me some supporting fire here  :D it's not really about numbers of the real vehicle produced is it? I mean look at the number of King Tiger or even Jagdtigers made, but the number of models out there... Or the Puma armoured car perhaps?

Maybe the best answer is a resin one? At the moment I can only see a 3D printed one out there ...

I assumed somebody would have asked for this before, but having scrolled back I don't see it. Isn't it rather an obvious gap in the range? Nobody else does one in plastic, and it's great for a whole variety of early to mid-war scenarios, right up to D and E variants in Stalingrad. I don't know enough about the development of the basic hull but couldn't it be done as a conversion pack to the existing StuG ?

This looks great - a whole lot of options from WW1 via back of beyond to the Spanish Civil War and even WW2   :D

I have to say the decal sheets are one of the best things about Rubicon  ;D !

Is there a case for a large air recognition roundel to go on the bonnet as an option for the Allied star? Thinking about early war, desert, etc.

Your modelling skills are much superior to mine, I'm sure Ripley. Since I play Chain of Command skirmish actions I can't really see a fleet of funnies justifying the cost! But maybe an AVRE with fascine as a part of a scenario to get across an anti-tank ditch ...

Trenchworx have got some of the funnies covered Ripley. Bobbin, AVRE + fascine, and AVLB.

I built the Warlord/Italaeri Churchill as an AVRE too. I agree it's a versatile kit - and with some of their models I do actually find myself wondering - heresy - whether I don't prefer their simpler approach to some of the more elaborate recent Rubicon offerings. But I still reckon a Rubicon Churchill could sell very well.

I think a Churchill would be an excellent idea. I know it's been canvassed before here, and one of the arguments against it was that there are plastic alternatives such as Warlord. But I think the Rubicon one would be better.
Having recently made the Valentine I'm not sure it's the way to go though Ballardian. Too many pieces, eg running gear and turret, made it more of a modellers kit than a wargamers one IMO.
