Alte for me too. It's a more aesthetically pleasing model, and far, far more useful too as they were used in so many theaters. Enough were around post 43 for them to still be valid in a late war collection

Best bucket I've seen!  ;) Love the set, can see myself needing a few of these

These transfers look excellent. Might I suggest selling them in packs of say 2-3 sheets separately, as I can see a lot of use for these

I love that lots! Is the door separate? That's the only thing that I can really see at the moment that could do with tweaking in the future

Official Assembly Instructions / Tiger 1 Zimmerit
« on: December 05, 2014, 08:50:00 am »
Hi Everyone, I've just completed the Tiger 1 and thought I'd give a quick guide on how I made the Zimmerit coating.

First up I built the hull, but left off all the fittings apart from the MG port. I then slightly roughed up the surface with some fine sand paper and applied a layer of White Milliput to the model to a depth of around 1mm, ensuring it was smooth and even all over.

After leaving the Milliput to harden slightly for around 20 minutes I wet the surface of the Milliput and used a Razor Saw to add texture to Zimmerit by placing the teeth of the saw lightly in the Milliput and dragging it along for a length of maybe 2-3MM. I then lifted the blade up, moved it forwards maybe half a MM then placed it back in the putty and dragged it along another 2-3mm. I kept repeating this process until all the surfaces to be covered were done. It was simple to do, and a little time consuming. I found sticking a film on made the process really painless though!

Good evening! I've just completed my Rubicon Tiger 1 Late production. Zimmerit is home made. I'm glad Rubicon left this for the modeller to add, as the moulded never looks as good to my eye,  plus it's wrong for the early model too. Absolutely stunning kit. enjoyed every second of it

I think a Tiger II kit would be better served without Zimmerit as it never looks as good in plastic as spending a couple of hours with putty and a saw to detail. Also it's a lot easier to add Zimmerit than it is to remove it!

Thanks every, kit went together very well indeed. I've reviewed the kit in detail on my blog, if you Google Rubicon Panzer IV it's about 2-3 down on the list. I found it excellent though. Currently working on the Tiger, and adding Zimmerit

Great idea! I'd like to see a British plastic 25pdr, a US M101a1 105mm Howitzer, German LeFH 105mm gun and a Russian M1938 122mm gun. I think those would fill a void, especially if you could do them in a bundle pack with their tractors!

That looks so good. If it's a Stug III I'd like all of them please! It's my favourite German Vehicle! Are there plans to do an earlier version of the Panzer III chassis? I can imagine it being a major rework of the design to do so though.

Hi all here's my first post, the Panzer IV Ausf F2. Loved every minute of this kit and can't wait to build more. Tracks have still to be secured in the pics, hence the slightly wonky angle in one of them!
