Something not for wargamers but still can be used as an objective!

"Karl-Gerät" (040/041), also known as Mörser Karl, was a WW2 German self-propelled siege mortar (Mörser) designed and built by Rheinmetall.  Its heaviest munition was a 60cm (24") diameter, 2,170kg shell, and the range for its lightest shell of 1,250kg was just over 10km (6.2mi). Each gun had to be accompanied by a crane, a two-piece heavy transport set of railcars, and several modified tanks to carry shells.

This will be a Limited Edition resin & pewter kit.  The model vehicle itself (in firing mode) is about 20cm(L) x 5.7cm(W) x 7.9cm(H), that's 8" x 2.3" x 3.3".  No price info yet as it is still in 3D drawings. Two variants can be built:

Gerät 040: original model, armed with a short 600 millimetres (24 in) calibre barrel;
Gerät 041: later model, armed with a long (L/11.55) 540 millimetres (21 in) calibre barrel.

We might add a Munitionsschlepper to the project if time permits.

Cool subject.  Usual reservations about metal and resin, but obviously has to be a limited production kit.

 Very cool . Anybody make  modern day looking civilian  1/56 figures ? I can see using this thing in a Kublinka Museum diorama , sitting next to the Maus  .  Probably going to have to sell a kidney to get one though ….

 Cool project, I could certainly see one as an objective in a game - or as a large (and no doubt expensive) scenery piece.
 Ripley - O gauge railway figures are probably the closest (possibly a little large)  & certainly the easiest to get hold of (I believe S gauge might in fact be a better match, but they're harder to find). Woodland Scenics and Noch have reasonable ranges.

 Just remembered that  Wargames Factory made civilian male and female plastic sets , for their zombie game . If I get rid  of the gun hands they could work as museum visitors as the poses aren't too action oriented . So many ideas

Out of curiosity, how big was the crew for this thing?..

Elias , the info I found says crew of 21 . What they do and where there are situated on the gun I have no idea . In action pictures show 3 or 4 guys on the side platforms ramming the ammo , plus there's a driver to move this thing , very slowly . Probably a crew of 2 or 3 on each of the munition panzers , probably a platoon of guys to help get this thing on it's railroad carriages or to break it down and put it on the multi wheeled hi way trailers . And I would think it would have security and a couple of anti aircraft type support units attached

We have to stress once again we are a design studio working hard to diversify based on our digital work training and experiences.  We now have 3 different teams of people responsible for various design tasks - plastic products, resin products, and digital sculpting.  All trainees or new staff must start with resin products to get themselves accustomed to all aspects of parts and component designs before they can be transferred to plastic product design (which is another skill level).  Without proper training, there will never be a good plastic product.

All trainees will start with something small, then moving up to projects with larger size and more complicated subjects... and we can assure you the LCM(3) or the Karl-Gerät have not reached the monstrosity we are hoping for!

Something like this could also be the chance for you to start diversifying in scales... I can't imagine buying one of these (or anything bigger!) in 1/56. 1/100 however... 

A 1/100 or TT Gauge DORA would be amazing.
