Quick question. Will the MG (MG34 / MG42) parts for this kit have modeler and gamer versions? I really like that the M4A3 kit (#2900042) gives you this option to have a gamer or modeler version of the MG.

On the subject of modeling and gaming machine guns (I do want a Rubicon MG42 in gaming style for my Totenkontrolfahrzeug). Possibly something for the next German stowage set?

Any chance this could follow through with a schwimmwagen? That would probably be a slide mould plus bits.

Has anyone seen a photo of a Kubelwagen which actually has this machine gun mount?  It's very common on models, in war films and on restored vehicles, but I wonder if anyone really used it.

Yes, there were a few historical photos with MG mounts in the Squadron book.

Just spent the last hour or so looking on Google for the MG mount in period photos . Did find a couple but very indistinict and small pictures , not worth saving . Most interior  pictures of presurved late ( 42 -45 ) kubels  show the 4 rifle mount instead ( don't see how a AA mount would work there )

I wonder if the MG mount was an early 1940s kind of attachment ,most vehicles , Horch , Krupp Boxer etc had some sort of  a AA MG mount during the invasion of France . Hmm , guess its time to pick up another Haynes book

Kubelwagens didn't really enter service until after the Fall of France.  A better early war vehicle would be the various light passenger cars (Kfz 4).  Which were often fitted with a prominent machine gun mount.

Yes, there were a few historical photos with MG mounts in the Squadron book.

Very few combat photos show this type of MG mounted on a Kubelwagen, so it might be that it wasn't a common thing. However, Rubicon Models stated it will be an "option", so modelers/gamers that do not want it do not have to use the parts. For gamers that want to have it can use the parts.

This is the final design of the Volkswagen Kübelwagen, will now proceed to 3D printing for review. Digital sculpting of the driver is on the way!

I was just going to ask a similar question about the tarpaulin top.
Will the Kubelwagen kit come with full tarpaulin top cover like your Jeep kit?

I think the "fold or extended canvas top(WIP)" means they are working on the extended top.
