Wish Lists / Re: M4A3E2 Jumbo Resin Conversion Kit
« on: January 11, 2019, 03:04:45 pm »
IF Rubicon were to produce a "Resin Conversion Kit" even with the thought of using the Rubicon M4A3 / M4A3E8 Sherman Kit / Item# 280042, the Duckbill Suspension would still be "more accurate" than any other 1/56th Scale Resin Kit out there! I don't know of any other Company that puts out an M4A3E2 Jumbo in plastic... And the Resin Kits I've seen don't have the "Duckbills!"

The picture below of the Jumbo at Camp Ripley, while stripped inside, it's still a 70 year old and the "Track Tension" isn't correct, but I don't see that much sag in the Road Wheels... I'm not concerned about 1mm sag on a scale model. For the IPMS Modeler, it might be something that concerns you guys! For me it's a "Gaming Piece!" I want/need/desire a "75mm & 76mm Turret!"

I know Rubicon isn't going to Spend the Time,  Effort & Money on producing another M4A3 Kit in plastic. I believe this is an "inexpensive alternative" to fill the "Jumbo Gap!" I'm hoping there's enough interest in the Community to get the Rubicon Team to at least come up with and produce a Jumbo Resin Conversion Kit. IF successful, it means they sell at least a "Resin Jumbo Kit" & another  M4A3 / M4A3E8 Sherman Kit / Item# 280042!

Wish Lists / M4A3E2 Jumbo Resin Conversion Kit
« on: January 10, 2019, 01:25:43 pm »
Any chance of doing a "Resin Conversion Kit" for your M4A3 / M4A3E8 Sherman Item# 280042? I bought the Company B "AFV M4A3E2 Jumbo Sherman universal conversion kit" and it just doesn't fit the Rubicon Kit! You have already redone the M4A3 Main Kit... That part is done! You would just need to add a 75mm Cannon Barrel (Done); a new, Up-Armored, enlarged T23 Turret; the modified M62 Gun Mount; the new, up-armored  Final Drive Housing; and the Left Side, Right Side and Front Upper Armored add-on parts.

The T-23 Turret could be either the Union Steel (known as the rounded or "soft" lower edge) or the Ordnance Steel Foundry (also known as the OSF or the "hard" edge). OR even both!

The M4A3 / M4A3E8 Sherman Item# 280042 kit already the 76mm Barrels for the 76mm Gun Up-Grade; as well as providing the VVSS "Duck-Bill" tracks. The "Vision" Turret Cupola is also with the current kit!

The Sherman Minutia Website has an excellent Page on the Jumbo:

I hope you'll consider this Resin Conversion Kit!

Work In Progress / Re: Scenery Range - New Brick Wall Set 180630
« on: July 02, 2018, 03:07:09 pm »
Hopefully you'll consider including some "Damaged Wall sections" & possibly "some options" to change the general appearance of the wall...  I'm not knowledgeable on the names of brick wall parts, but maybe include an optional alternative Wrought Iron Fencing; different Crown Caps, etc. This way we can buy more that one kit & have it appear to be a different walls for other homes & buildings on the gaming board, while using the same kit over & over? (You guys spoiled us with all  those "great Sherman Options!")  I've included an example (the only one close to what I'm thinking!)

I really like what you've done already! Keep up the good work!

I should have listed the "Step Numbers" in my post, will do next time (IF there is a next time...).  Thanks Guys for the Replies! I was pretty sure I should save E22 for the Alte! I will do so now and not worry about the Neu! I plan on using my kits as Gaming Pieces so the rear hatch will be closed. I bought 3 of the 20mm KwK 38 Autocannon kits, 2 sets for the SdKfz 250/9 Alte & 2 for the SdKfz 250/9 Neu Kits and one set to convert the Warlord Puma to a SdKfz 234/1 until Rubicon does a "better" SdKfz 234 Series!  :o  I'm still hoping Rubicon will use the SdKfz 250 & 251 weapons expansion kits for the SdKfz 234 Series & Aufklärungspanzer 38(t) / SdKfz140/1  ;)

I've been looking at the instructions of the SdKfz 250/9 kit... I currently have 2 of the SdKfz 250/1 Neu Kits, but have not purchased the SdKfz 250/1 Alte yet. The Instructions below show both kits for the SdKfz 250/9 using the Floorboard Part E22 in the building of both the SdKfz 250/9 Alte & SdKfz 250/9 Neu... Since the Expansion Kit SdKfz 250/9 has only one Part E22, can I assume I should use it in the SdKfz 250/9 Alte so as to attach the 20mm KwK 38 Autocannon to the Floor of the SdKfz 250/9 Alte and leave the SdKfz 250/9 Neu without the Floorboard?   :o

Work In Progress / Re: M4 Sherman - Decal Sheets Final Version 170827
« on: August 30, 2017, 12:31:03 am »
The Decal Sheets look good! Have you thought of producing a "Generic Sheet" of just Soviet Slogans? They could be used on any of the T-34 Series, SU-85/SU-122 kits, the upcoming T-26 Series and any future Armor Releases.... I mean there is just so many Slogans, but You could double them in Small & Medium sizes to fit the T-26 & the T-34 Turrets. Throw in some extra Soviet Stars & some Guard Unit emblems.   Just a thought!  It's like with the US Sheet, you could also add a "Kilroy was here!"    :o

Have you guys thought about adding a Waterline version to go along with the full size Model? I think most of us Gamers would be "willing to pay a Little Extra" for Both! I do beach landing, so I would like to add a Waterline Model. Think about adding a Poll if you're not sure... The LVT-2 Alligator, armored & unarmored could also be an option (Over the sides)...

I found a Facebook Page on the Infanteriekarren IF8 cart you might like! The Photo section shows war time photos of the Cart being dragged by Vehicles, Troops, Horses and even dogs!  The most interesting version is for a Panzerschreck section (Aug 2014). Possibly some conversion ideas that I thought I would share....        https://www.facebook.com/pg/infanteriekarren/photos/

Wish Lists / Re: What about french tanks?
« on: December 17, 2016, 10:41:54 am »
IF & WHEN you do the French equipment... Please consider adding the German Mods for the German Occupation of France.

The Germans pressed almost everything the French had into service... Even the FT 17! Whether as part of the Early Invasion of Russia, or as Anti-Partisan in the Balkans , Police Duties in the Occupied Countries, or for Training Reconstituted units it France...  The Germans pressed everything available into Service.  Many times going to combat with their "training vehicles" because that was all that was available. The Germans even used the old turrets for field fortifications such as the Atlantic Wall.

Most Mods were as simple as redoing the Cupola with a split hatch, others were modified into Self-propelled guns or AT guns.  Hell, you know the Germans were desperate for Armor of any kind when they employed the Italian M13/40 & M14/41's into service!

Anyway, just a thought... It means looking at Post France 1940 usage and possibly adding German Markings to the French Decal sheets. It means "crazies like me" don't have to do any crazy modifications!

Wish Lists / Re: M15/M-16 Half tracks
« on: December 01, 2016, 02:57:28 am »
Just a thought for the M16 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage…. Consider adding a second complete Maxson turret kit to the M16 kit and either add the M45 on an M20 Trailer or an M51 on an M17 Trailer. This would allow your loyal Rubicon Customers could build both. I would rather pay more for a plastic kit than for a cardboard box. By doing multiple kits in a box, the customer saves on the cost of kit, Rubicon save on not having to put out another kit....

The M16 Meat Chopper lends itself to the M5 Halftrack conversions such as the M14 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage.  Do the floor boards’ right on the M3/M16 Half-tracks and it could be used with minimum rework for the M5/M14 Half-tracks. The Extra Maxson could also be used for the M3/M5 Stuart AA Conversion…

The M45 on the M20 Trailer would give the Jeep something else to tow, the M51 on the M17 Trailer needs a 2. 5 ton 6X6 GMC to tow it!

Both kits would be sought by Gamers doing “Korea 50-53” or “French Indochina 45-54.” And the M45 would be sought by Gamers doing “Viet Nam 65-73” for US M35 2.5 ton Gun Trucks.

I’m a Gamer constantly looking for that “special equipment” to round out my forces! Whether it's a field kitchen or a tank...

True... I didn't even realize that I posted the picture of the single Driver's vision block until you posted.

Rubicon could do like they did with the Hetzer... Provide a Small & Large Gun Collar, a single & 2 piece 88mm gun barrel,
and all 3 of the the Panther's Exhaust systems! That would cover most of the examples of the Jagdpanther. Hell, the only version Rubicon missed was the Swiss G13 Hetzer with the muzzle brake!

I already bought the Jagdpanther with the Large Gun Collar from Trenchworx, LLC, trying to fill gaps of missing vehicles. BUT I have always wanted the Jagdpanther with the small collar! AND YES! I'll buy at least 2 kits!  :o

Achtung Panzer: The Panzerjager V Jagdpanther shows the different variations of the "old Girl!"

Small collar with single & 2 piece 88mm; Single & double Driver's vision block  with a mix of gun barrels with the Small Collar. The possibilities are endless!

I still like Peter Chamberlain's  "Encyclopedia of German Tanks of World War Two." I'm on my 2d copy! An OLD but Great Reference!

Hi Guys

Could you consider also doing the Early Version Jagdpanther with the "Small Collar" with a "single piece 88mm gun barrel?"

Everyone does the late, Large Bolt On Collar and two piece 88mm... The only problem is some of the early Jagdpanther's had a
duel drivers vision block. This could be handled like you guys did with the Panther Ausf A & D Hull Ball Mount / Pistol Port!

I hope I did this right... Here is a Link to the Imperial War Museum's Early Jagdpanther!

Introduce Yourself / Re: Introduce Yourself Here...
« on: May 18, 2016, 10:16:11 am »
Greetings ALL

My name is Andy & I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado (USA). I'm an old retired Tanker, that served over 20 years in the active Army on M48's, M60's and finished up on M1A1's.

I've been war-gaming since 1970. I have an interest in ACW, Colonials, WW1, WW2 and the Cold War. I've recently discovered Rubicon and like their modeling concepts. I am new to the Forums... But hope to get a lot of great ideas on modeling, painting and possibly gaming!

See you on the High Ground!
