Wish Lists / M101 and M102 105mm howitzers ?
« on: February 06, 2021, 04:08:35 am »
The 105 mm M101A1 howitzer (previously designated M2A1) is an artillery piece developed and used by the United States. It was the standard U.S. light field howitzer in World War II and saw action in both the European and Pacific theaters. Entering production in 1941, it quickly gained a reputation for accuracy and a powerful punch. The M101A1 fires 105 mm high explosive (HE) semi-fixed ammunition and has a range of 12,330 yards (11,270 m), making it suitable for supporting infantry.

Units were initially equipped with the M101A1 howitzer, virtually the same 105 mm howitzer that had been used to support U.S. forces since World War II. In 1966 a new 105 mm towed howitzer, the M102, was received in Vietnam. The first M102s were issued to the 1st Battalion, 21st Field Artillery, in March 1966. Replacement of the old howitzers continued steadily over the next four years.

Plastic is fantastic ....for my part it will be plastic please :)
IMO you will have  more demand for plastic than for pewter.  it could be counter productive to begjn your cold war area list kit offer by resin and pewter . I know you are uncertain on the demand but you will be able to assess it by the amount of M113 sold as a proxy for the demand of a US light tank need for gamers and others.
In any cases I would not have certainly bought seven panzer IV if you had sold them in pewter.....In other words thanks for this news but in my case i will buy it only in plastic ( in that case at least four of them).

YES YES AND YES fantastic Many Thanks :)

Wish Lists / soviet BMP-2 and BMP-1
« on: February 01, 2021, 07:16:34 am »

The BMP-2 ( Boyevaya Mashina Pekhoty, Russian: Боевая Машина Пехоты, literally "infantry combat vehicle") is a second-generation, amphibious infantry fighting vehicle introduced in the 1980s in the Soviet Union, following on from the BMP-1 of the 1960s.

In the Soviet Army, BMPs were typically issued to the motor rifle battalions of tank regiments. In a typical motor-rifle division, one motor-rifle regiment had BMPs, the other two had wheeled BTRs.

Proliferation varied greatly among the rest of the Warsaw Pact nations. For example, at least some East German motor-rifle divisions were recorded to have all three motor-rifle regiments with BMPs, ranging down to the Romanian and Bulgarian Armies, some of whose divisions had no BMPs at all

Wish Lists / heighties M2 bradleys
« on: January 31, 2021, 11:49:31 pm »
The Bradley consists of two types of vehicles, the M2 Infantry Fighting Vehicle and the M3 Cavalry Fighting Vehicle. The M2 carries a crew of three and a six-man infantry squad. The M3 carries the crew of three and a two-man scout team and additional radios, BGM-71 TOW and M47 Dragon or FGM-148 Javelin missiles.

The first combat unit to be equipped with Bradleys (four M2s and six M3s), in March 1983, was the 1st Battalion, 41st (Mechanized) Infantry, 2nd Armored Division.

Wish Lists / Re: soviet ZU-23-2
« on: January 31, 2021, 08:59:04 pm »
yes Somtec I try to suggest RM to go further in their attempt to explore an other area then WWII. I am convinced there are a lot of gamers who will enjoy any new plastic kit of the cold war area. When you think of the success in 15mm of games like team yankee Rubicon should not bypass this type of customers but in 28mm.

Wish Lists / soviet ZU-23-2
« on: January 31, 2021, 06:18:27 pm »
The ZU-23-2 was developed in the late 1950s. It was designed to engage low-flying targets at a range of 2.5 km as well as armoured vehicles at a range of two kilometres and for direct defence of troops and strategic locations against air assault usually conducted by helicopters and low-flying airplanes. The ZU-23-2 (2A13) mounts two 23 mm autocannons on a small trailer which can be converted into a stationary mount for firing the guns. While in this position the wheels are moved aside.

From 1965 onwards, the Soviet Union began supplying the Democratic Republic of Vietnam with large shipments of weapons
In the Soviet Union, some 140,000 units were produced.

Wish Lists / leopard 1( A1 or A3)
« on: January 30, 2021, 06:53:13 am »
The Leopard 1 is a main battle tank designed and produced by Porsche in West Germany that first entered service in 1965. Developed in an era when HEAT warheads were thought to make conventional heavy armour of limited value, the Leopard focused on firepower in the form of the German-built version of the British L7 105-mm gun, and improved cross-country performance that was unmatched by other designs of the era.

Production of the leopard 1 was set up at Krauss-Maffei of Munich from early 1964 onward, with deliveries of the first batch between September 1965 and July 1966. The Leopard was soon being purchased from Germany by a number of NATO members and other allies, including (in chronological order) Belgium (1968), the Netherlands (1969), Norway (1970), Italy (1971), Denmark (1976), Australia (1976), Canada (1978), Turkey (1980) and Greece (1981).

The Leopard 1A3 is based on the Leopard 1 which originated from West Germany and first entered service in 1965. Designed by Porsche, 110 Leopard 1A3s were ordered from the fifth batch of vehicles from the Leopard Project which started in 1965 aiming to develop a modern tank to replace the American M47 and the M48 Patton tanks which were quickly becoming outdated in Germany's reestablished army.

It weighs more than 40 tonnes, is about 10 meters long, has an engine of 820 horsepower, withstands 20mm hits from all sides and can operate in radioactive wastelands and areas contaminated with chemicals weapons. It also had a 105mm British L7A3 gun as it's main weapon loaded with 55 rounds and either twin 7.62 x 2mm MG 3s or twin Belgian FN MAGs situated on the top of the tank.

The M-706, also known as the V-100 Commando or XM706E2, was built by Cadillac Gage starting in 1964 for use in Vietnam for reconnaissance, convoy escort, base perimeter defense, and other security duties.

It was deployed in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force as well as ARVN and Thai forces, and later found customers in military and police organizations around the world. With up to .25 inch armor and deflecting angled surfaces, the crew was protected from small arms fire, grenades and anti-personnel mines.

Wish Lists / M163 vulcan
« on: January 30, 2021, 06:14:43 am »
used in vietnam the vulcan is an absolute must have IMO. especially if you are interested by nato or israeli army during the seventies.
The M163 Vulcan Air Defense System (VADS) is a self-propelled anti-aircraft gun (SPAAG) that was used by the United States Army.  The M163 consists of an M168 Vulcan 20 mm cannon with radar fire control mounted on a modified M113 armored personnel carrier. The M168 gun is a variant of the General Dynamics 20 mm M61 Vulcan rotary cannon, the standard cannon in most U.S. combat aircraft since the 1960s, mounted on either an armored vehicle or a trailer.
