Wish Lists / KV + IS series.
« on: November 27, 2019, 03:28:15 am »
Gotta say I'd love a plastic KV set and IS set.
With the KV having 2 kits for a KV-1 and KV-2 (parts to make both turrets)
And a KV-85, KV-1S.

And IS having IS-1 and IS-2 turrets.

Then Resin tops to make an SU-152 and ISU-152.

Yes warlord does one...but it's Shitaleri...so...yeah.

Model: Rubicon 1/56th Panzer IV Ausf F/F1/G/H:
Absolutely beautiful kit. Some accessories off their 1/56th Panzer IV D/E.
Very much closer to a scale model than a wargame piece due to parts count and options.

Decals: Company B Romanian crosses:
...Absolute garbage...trash...avoid at all costs.
If anyone has good UK accessible recommended alternatives in 72nd, 56th and 48th scale please do let me know.
Or as begged numerous times RUBICON WE NEED YOU!!!

Well that's the 3 Shermans done. Rubicon Models 1/56 with 28mm Perry crew. 10 hours work almost destroyed by army painter varnish which started to frost. Somehow a stiff brush and putting them up high and warm avoided the worst of it. Still some white bits linger...but...
2×M4 with 75mm
Lead M4 with option of 75mm, an A2E4 76mm and 105mm.

Showcase & Gallery / Jagdpanzer Beutepanzer SU-75/L70 (r)
« on: December 30, 2018, 07:06:31 pm »
Converted fictional Rubicon SU-122.
This unfortunately has not been very popular amongst those I've shown it to so far and has received more negativity than the last Beutepanzer.
So I'll probably not do any more and stick to generic stuff as it's quite depressing after all the work. But being called unimaginative isn't fun really.

Showcase & Gallery / Rubicon models 1/56th Stug.III
« on: October 04, 2018, 05:05:58 am »
Unlike the Panzer III I've not bothered with any background for this as it simply wasn't something I found people were interested in.

So just the model this time.

Enjoy...I suppose.

Showcase & Gallery / Panzer III Ausf.N2 Rubicon 28mm 1/56th
« on: August 30, 2018, 09:51:46 pm »
Many Panzer III were armed with a short-barrelled 7.5cm KwK 37 L/24 gun. 700 were produced or re-equipped from 1942 and 1943.

However in late 1943 and early 1944 around 1/3rd of these were further converted with a lightweight barrel to a longer 7.5cm KwK 37 L/40.
The two tanks were then designated separately in a fashion similar to the Panzer IV F1 and F2. That being N1 for the L/24 variant and N2 for the L/40.

This used the same breach and ammo as the L/24 but allowed higher velocities and therefore higher penetrative performance for the PzGr. 39/43.

The barrels however were not made to last. But it was predicted that the Panzer III would not outlive the barrels lifespan.
This proved to be correct...
(Note this is fictional)
Also needs commander.

Wish Lists / Panzer 38(t) and Marder combos.
« on: August 22, 2018, 08:58:19 pm »
I'd love to see a Rubicon Panzer 38(t) with options to build the mid mount marder.
Plastic soldier company have managed to make a great little kit that produces 2 variants of marder and a turret tank.
And nobody produces the Marder III with the mid mounted gun like theirs does in 15mm.

I'm sure Rubicon can manage it in 28mm.

Showcase & Gallery / Panzer III, SturmHetzer, Firefly, Easy 8
« on: August 08, 2018, 05:28:02 am »
Panzer III and 105mm SturmHetzer were my first Rubicon kits. I really want to redo them from scratch with crew. Saddened to see the Panzer III now gone with the Panzer IV.

I felt like with the firefly I was getting back into my groove.
The green is bright...but I like it.
The machine gun was left on for use with the 105mm turret.

The Easy 8 has the unfortunate link to being received on the exact same day a beloved friend committed suicide.
I named it after her and put the most effort I could into it.

I hope my next purchases to be a Stug and T34/85. Though with the 222/223 now out I might get that.
