Wish Lists / Re: Flak Panzer 38t
« on: January 17, 2022, 12:14:26 am »
I don`t think they will do this yet.....as RM do not make the  flak 38.
Flak 30`s were not used in the flak 38T
Since they have a NICE pack 40 you have more of a chance in seeing a marder III next year.

If they do in the future make a flak 38 then they may include armoured parts for a Sdkfz 10/5.

Work In Progress / Re: Project of the Month - Oct 2021 - SdKfz 234 Family
« on: October 03, 2021, 08:00:27 am »
Nice to see these at the project stage.

I would prefer too see it released as two separate kits of two versions. One sprue of generic parts for the 234 and the extras pieces on sprues B 234/1 and 2, sprue C for 234/3 and 4. Plus a crew sprue.

I see the PUMA graphic does not have the stowage box on the rear fender next to the aerial mount, it only seems to be unique to some 234/2 photos that I have seen.

There also seems to be different designs of tyers as the war progressed, possibly salvaged from other vehicles as needed.

I am not too sure of the other variants planned of the Luches turm or the 20mm schwebelafette as I have only seen these as models. I have not seen any photos of them, I hope someone has info of these variants. However, the 20mm fgst would be useful in making a 251/17D.

Sometime next year I would like too see the 232s, although I am not interested in the Lee/Grant I am sure if it does appear a Priest will surely follow.

Work In Progress / 3D Tracks
« on: August 31, 2021, 10:14:43 pm »
There is a work in progress article on the FB page regarding 3D printed T34 tracks.....

I think RM are focusing too much time and resources in the wrong direction...

Just look at the detailed tracks in the king Tiger kit. RM have done an excellent job and they have proved they can do them in plastic.

Do L&L sets for the panther,T34,Tiger Sherman's,Panzers Tec,with a new drive sprocket and idler.

Sell them as upgrade sets for the main kits.

Power to the plastic link and length.

General Discussions / Sherman tow shackles
« on: July 05, 2021, 07:05:57 pm »
I have a few of the RM Sherman's and I was wondering why they do not have tow shackles in the kits. Are there any aftermarket options available or do you all make your own.
I was hoping that RM would do an upgrade blister pack with the different types of shackles for the M4s and M4A3.

On another point,
I have noticed as well that the headlamps in the new M4A1 kits are better than those in the earlier kits. The brush guards are fine it's just the lamps are moulded too high and floating above the hull front. I guess that I will try and drill the lamp blobs out as most of the time the lamps were removed and stowed away in the daytime.

Work In Progress / Re: NEW PROJECT - German Stowage Set #2 210409
« on: May 19, 2021, 10:37:38 pm »
A nice selection of tools and jacks for RM trucks and webbing equipment and weapons to put on the 251s. The bike is a strange one to include since RM do a set of troopers on bikes. I would like too have some fire extinguishers in the set as the 251D kit does not have one.
A MP40 ammo pouch would be nice too go with the weapon.

I was hoping that RM would release the US,British and German webbing/backpack sprues as the jeeps,M3 halftrack and 251s need the personnel equipment for detailing the interior and stowage racks. The Russian set would be of use for the Russian armour collectors.

If they list them in their shop they would sell out fast. I would rather have too much webbing than not enough.

Can we have the VVSS with different wheels this time. The new M4A1 kit with the early cast wheels was promising but you kept the old VVSS from the other kits with the stamped wheels.
It would be nice too have VVSS with the cast wheels and even the late disc type as this will be the last Sherman RM will do.

...... and who has not got plenty of spare tracks from the M4A3 kits.

Flying stands are not important at the moment as many of us have different methods of solving the problem. I had 1/72 aircraft and to get the central point to drill the hole I just balanced the model on the tip of my finger.

I think it's great too see a plastic chopper in this scale that will have many uses in the wargames community.
Due too the number of parts that maybe needed for the kit I think RM should  release it as two separate kits. A gunship with the weapons and door gunners and pilots and the medevac model with the stretchers, casualties and the medic.

I am interested to see how RM are going to do the clear parts for the cockpit as they have not done clear plastic yet.

I am into WW2 but that's not gonna stop me from getting a Huey or two......maybe some plastic marines.

The Huey will be the big seller for 2021.

Work In Progress / Re: King Tiger - Assembly Video 201106
« on: November 14, 2020, 06:42:44 am »
What a cool cat kit. It's great to see RM do the tracks asperate. If only they put the track details on the rear parts of the other tanks track like they did on the front side. At least the new panzer IV has some link detail on the track assembly.

I would like too see an upgrade set made for the Panthers, that have the link & length tracks and etched engin grill set, for those who want to have a super detailed model.
Possibly the Tiger I could have an engine grill set made or even a full refurbishment in the future.
I have not seen any comments yet regarding the resin tracks for the Tiger I`s but they look good on the shop page.

When I get a few King Tigers I would not need to build the internal parts of the model for a Wargaming piece. I have got some 1/48th T34`s from Hobby boss and they have a full turret and internal details that I did not build in the kit. If you can't see it don't add it.......unless you want a wrecked one with the turret blown off.

General Discussions / Re: The visual appeal of 1:56 (28mm) scale figures.
« on: September 13, 2020, 04:23:15 pm »
I don`t know what happened too the Wargames Factory 28mm WW2 figures. I know Warlord games have all the rest of their figure ranges but the WW2 stuff have vanished and I do not know if they are available anymore.

Work In Progress / Re: Vietnam War - VC Prototypes Primed 200912
« on: September 13, 2020, 04:01:57 pm »
Very nice figures, If it's the ones on the Facebook page, and a great choice of options. That is how you make multipose figures,Get all the army sets done at the same time so they can be released together in one release phase.

I am not into NAM stuff but I hope that RM do the support weapons in plastic as the mortar and reciolless rifle support legs are thin.

These look to be the best figures for Vietnam I have ever seen and if the US range are just as good when RM start to do them then it's going too be a huge game changer in the market. I think RM May need to create a sister site or a separate forum page for the NAM project only.

Great work RM, raising the standards again.

I hope RM take the same approach in future for any New WW2 figure sets.

Awesome!...The detail is top rate. Well done RM.

I like the Tommy figure set (pewter / plastic) I like the guy with his arms semi crossed, it looks like he smacked his elbow on the back rest next to him and giving it a rub.

When they are eventually released I hope RM
will develope some upgrade sets for the kit in th future, such as a QLR wireless body or a QLB Bofors tractor set.

General Discussions / Re: Planes in 1/56
« on: July 22, 2020, 09:32:40 pm »
Most wargames use 1/72 aircraft on tripods, as the plane is about 24 inches / 60cm above the battlefield you can not visually see the difference in scales. Looking from the perspective of the figures on the table the plane looks to have a virtual altitude.

Since any planes/choppers are a representation of air support and only appear on the table in one move then off again, it would not be with the cost of development.

I am not into the Vietnam war stuff but a downed Huey would be a good game objective.....similar to the ending of the Korean war film: The bridge at Toko Ri.

Work In Progress / Re: 1/56 (28mm) Modular Buildings
« on: July 19, 2020, 06:45:56 pm »
The hardest part of making buildings is to make the Windows and doors that are geometric and uniformed. I would like too see a mixed window / door set and lattice shutters in the scenery range for town or farm buildings.

There would not be a need to make wall sections as you can get different plastic brick work card from Wills HO scale railway scenery so it would keep the cost of production down and less parts too deal with.

I have some 1/72 Miniart buildings I got 8 years ago.......there are so many parts and they all look the same as they all have the same components. Just to say, my enthusiasm for attempting to make them has diminished.

I have the industrial wall set that I would like to convert into a damaged building so a Normandy or Eastern European building accessory set would be helpful.

Wish Lists / A few more figure sets
« on: July 01, 2020, 04:04:35 pm »
A few more sets would be nice ;

US BAR team or .30 cal team walking.
UK piat/50mm mortor team walking.

And that is just a start.

Since the Bedford QLT is in the pipeline I guess seated British infantry will follow.

But everyone else on this thread would have a different request.

A jungle clue could be for a Predator Vs Arnie or a Veloser rapter vignette.
