That would be nice. No one make this vehicle in plastic! Did you know that the 37mm Gun Motor Carriage M6 (WC55) was a modified Dodge WC52 utility truck? [hint, hint] Also, the most produced in the WC range were the WC-51 and WC-52 weapons carriers with a total of over 180,000 being produced.

The Dodge WC series almost seemed like an obvious guess.
I was hoping it would be the Dodge WC series. :(

The M24 Light Tank used the SCR-508 or SCR-528 Radio Set, but why include that part in a tank? The new project would have to be either an opened vehicle or a field command-post set, and since you said, "US vehicle project", we can rule out the field command-post set. We can also rule out the US Jeep since you already did that vehicle - I know because I have four kits. We can also rule out the US M20 since you already did the M8/M20 kit.

The DUKW amphibious truck? Nah, No.
The M3 Scout Car? ... hmm, maybe.

More importantly, I do not have one of these in my collection. I was tempted to get one in resin, but after being bit by the plastic bug, I stopped buying resin and started replacing what I had with plastics. This is why I'm so excited about the new Sdkfz222/221 to be released since I have a few resin 222s that need to be replaced.

Long story short, I'm really looking forward to the...

Sadly though, we will have to wait for a very long time. :(

Not to sound cynical, but I'm using RM's history of releases to make this assumption, and currently its only in the 3D drawing stage.
Yes, I know it can take a lot of time and effort to get these plastic kits released correctly, so that is why I will say its better late than never. However, I just hope another model company doesn't beat RM to the punch!

P.S. Will the kit come with both a modellers and gamers version of the Browning .50 cal HMG?

Rubicon Models makes such nice plastic kits. I hope it will be plastic.

I also agree with Pinky about the rear panel.

If you ask me, it would be much better to leave the rear panel clean (no gear). Give the gamers/modelers choices to add packs and other gear, or not to add. A clean rear panel with separate rear stowage (packs, jerrycans, pioneering tools, boxes, and so on) would be a better choice. This allows gamers/modelers more freedom rather than being locked into a set pattern.

I'm not going to get more than one if they all look the same . Look at the resin Sherman DD Warlord produced , no way every tank in the unit would have gear placed exactly like that .

Jerrycans stowage brackets (on each side of the engine, the same as were fitted to half-tracks) seem to have been standard on later vehicles. They should be optional, but they should be included.

1) The rear comes with two panels - one with the tarpaulin support frames and one without. The stowage is for display only.
2) Early variant did not have jerry cans on the side, only on mid production models.

A "Radio Car" option is available as a conversion kit in blister pack format; so is the optional Soviet and Commonwealth crew.

So they will not be attached on the final product. This is good news!

That is one of the many reasons I like about Rubicon Models. The plastic kits give they you are "clean" vehicles leaving it up to the gamer/modeler to add the extra stowage as needed. More importantly, because Rubicon Models lets us start with a clean vehicle (not already cluttered with add stowage), we can individualize them so that they naturally look different when we buy more then one of the same model kit. To repeat what ripley said, "Look at the resin Sherman DD Warlord produced, no way every tank in the unit would have gear placed exactly like that."

At 1:56 scale. vehicles will look strange and weird if all the vehicles had the exact same stowage in exactly the same places. This is why I think Rubicon Models made an excellent decision. They give the gamer/modeler a model of a vehicle that is "clean", and offer stowage kits to customize the model as needed. Also, sometimes in the kits themselves, they add extra stowage that can be added or not added. Simply fantastic!

IMO it needs a wash to bring out the lines in the canvas, but that's my paint / weather style Everybody has a different style of painting , shading and washes , the trick is to see past their take on the subject and imagine how it would look with what you would do to the kit

Post by: Pinky on April 06, 2019, 11:17:11 am: I'm not talking about the painting, Ripley - I'm referring to the way the hood overhangs the windscreen. The join between the top and sides is also very prominent. It's otherwise a great looking kit (few photos show the canopy in use anyway).

Probably all are reproduction tarps , but they should be made from the original patterns .Notice some have the roof support bow level with the front window , some have it set higher . Also thinking the plastic tarp might not be set on model correctly so can be added/removed for picture taking . As it is , I probably wouldn't add the tarp to the first two or three of these I got , need to fill them with Russian troops like my M3A1 halftrack Just a thought I wonder if the pewter Soviet Tank riders would work in the rear of this thing ? Anybody got them and a M3 halftrack to test fit and see how they look ?
