An Easter surprise for everyone... the Dodge WC-51 / WC-52 "Beep" Weapons Carrier!
Not the final drawings and some missing features are added as well.

The open cab pickup could be fitted with an optional M24A1 machine gun mount, which bolted across the front of the bed. WC-52 Truck, Cargo, 3/4 ton, 4x4 w/Winch Dodge (G502) Weapons Carriers was identical to the WC-51, but fitted with a Braden MU2 7,500 lb / 3 402 kg capacity winch at the front bumper. 59,114 built.

When Rubicon Models starts making plastic kits of Allied AT-Guns, I guess it wouldn't be long before we start to see a conversion kit for this model to make the M6 Gun Motor Carriage with 37 mm AT-Gun.

That is a very nice vehicle!

If Rubicon doesn't make one , the gun should be an easy kit bash using an extra barrel from the PSC 28mm Russian gun set . The floor mount is just a tapered pedestal , so that shouldn't be to hard either to make . The gun shield might be the problem though …. have to start searching the net for pictures ( IRC Tankograd have a tech manual reprint on this vehicle ) . Plus the Russians got 19 - 25000 of these vehicle types ( different books / different totals ) , used as trop transport , artillery tow and AA with a 12.7mm tripod mount MG in the rear
-
Another lovely addition. Well done Rubicon 8)
-
No question about this one - definitely a great choice of subject. The Red Army used them too.
-
Nice models.
-
I see it is the Canadian version of the WC51/52, the American version had/has a toolbox between the spare tyre and the cargobed on the drivers side who has to climb into the vehicle from the passenger side.
-
This makes me very happy ^_^
Hopefully the work done on this kit will make doing a WC61/62 much easier.
-
Wasn't this the same vehicle platform for the ambulance? Replace the cargo bed with a hard shell that over hangs the drivers compartment.
Like was done with the SdKfz 305/3a Expansion Set - Box Body (Einheitskoffer).

@Rubicon ... Were you wanting to deliver a Canadian version of this vehicle, or a US version? The comment above suggests you missed the mark if you were trying for a US version, as there were driver door area differences.

As stated, this is not the final version of the Beep. Additional features were added and not shown in the image; for example, the fuel cap just above the rear wheel... please wait for final drawings. ;)

Not much of an update on the WC51/52 since April...
Here is another surprise update: an upgrade from a WC52 to a WC55... M6 Fargo!
Hmmm... now that we have an US 37mm AT gun, what can we do with it?

I will need a few of these to transport my US troops and maybe a weapons carrier.
-
Moved house to our final home a bungalow, so at last started to get some modelling time so glad to see these, will you please give some thought to the command car and ambulance, Eileen brought me a Johnny Lightning D-day command car sadly unlike the Jeep the Command Car is small and not to scale. Very well made and I`ll treasure it but still no wargame item. I`ve a multi use for your models WW-2, Weird War -2, and a conservation group in Zombie /Apocalvpse games. Plus fine display models in their own right.
-
a very cool alternative to the more common jeeps

Painted sample of our first plastic test shot of the WC51 "Beep"... with 3 US crew included.
