General Discussions / Re: What's Warlord up to?

They have included fixed bayonets on all of the SMLE Mk.III rifles! That is a shame. I guess the sculptors were influenced by the propaganda photos/films because 1) uncharacteristic of Warlord to do that, and 2) it makes it damn near impossible to have no rifles without bayonets because removing (cutting) the bayonet off the SMLE Mk.III will be a very ugly affair!

I have always thought that the British SMLE Mk.III rifle was one of the most attractive rifles in WW1 and WW2 - it might be because some of the "look" was designed by an artist.

I think they explicitly stated that they took their cues when designing this set from the classic Airfix models, which is probably where the bayonets came from.

I kind of like the look of them, but I think I may have enough Bolt Action armies on the go already before I can even think about starting yet another.

Wish Lists / IS-2 and family
« on: August 10, 2018, 08:58:06 pm »
I was browsing through the product catalogue (as one does), and I was pondering the Soviets. Obviously the most iconic vehicles (the T-34 and the Katyusha) have been included, but the Soviets are rather behind the curve when it comes to releases.

One option which I'd very much like to see is Rubicon to take on the IS family of tanks, primarily in this regard the IS-2. While not as famous or as numerous as the T-34, it was a mainstay of the Soviet war machine towards the end of the war.

There would also be a few variants to develop - The IS-85/IS-1, the 1943 & 1944 hull options for the IS-2, and lastly the postwar IS-2M, all of which would I believe have a great deal of commonality.

I feel this would be an excellent addition to Rubicon's catalogue.

A US Airborne Jeep Grew would be nice to have. Of course you'd need options for, say, Sicily/D-Day, Market Garden, and Bastogne/Bulge uniforms...

Hello!

I'm a wargamer from the UK and I'm glad to see a manufacturer making quality plastic tanks, especially for ones that previously didn't have plastic options.
