Thanks for sharing these.

I really like 'Greif'.  However, the figure standing inside is too small - he makes the vehicle look quite spacious when it was actually very cramped.

The SdKfz 250 'Neu' is quite good apart from the camo, which looks rather odd.  I've never seen anything like that (hard-edged stripes yes, but not like this).

I agree with Pinky about the camo looking a bit odd, and also the tool chest. It was not until I referred back to your model that I realised why. It looks like the tool chest is blanked off, on your model there is a retaining strap at the top.

The side of the crew compartment looks like it has stand off (Schutzen) armour, again compared to your model

Looking forward to the kits.

We have decided to remove the figure on the cover art.  It actually looks better too!

As for the camo, it is basically not camo at all.  As you all might aware, most vehicles
shipped to North Africa originally is in Panzer Grey, and then overpainted with Desert
Yellow.  With the strong desert wind and sand-blasting on the vehicles, the original
gray was shown, thus the result you see on the artwork, which is also true for the
actual GREIF vehicle.

On a side note, we need to use 3D models that is currently on the market to do all
these renders, which might not be an exact representation of our models.  This is
due to the fact that our design model file is incompatible with 3D rendering software
we used for our cover art.

I thought Pinky was referring to the 280038 artwork.

This camo scheme was used by both the Grossdeustchland and Hermann Goring divisions
around 44/45 time frame.

The one we shown on the cover art is based on the 5th Panzer division Wiking, Hungary, 1945.

There's nothing wrong with the colour scheme on 'Greif'.  It looks great.

I'm not convinced on the SdKfz 250 'Neu' though - it looks weird.  There were hard-edged schemes, with angled stripes of colour, but I've never seen this pattern (which would have been quite difficult to apply, without any real camouflage advantage).  Are you sure your artist got it right?

Quite sure of it... as stated, it is based on the 5th Panzer division Wiking, Hungary, 1945.

Even Dragon is using it, but their color scheme is not correct.  Should be brown, and not green.

This is one of the reasons I like Rubicon, it gives the purchaser knowledge of the kit that no photograph of the finished model is ever going to provide.

I do have to ask, is there any significance to the green colouring of part of the lower hull?

We have customers who are basically wargamers and are novice in modeling.  Sometimes
we might use colour to highlight positioning of parts when we felt might be confusing to
assemble.

Strange, because all the photos of Wiking's SdKfz 250s I've seen show a fairly scruffy sprayed pattern.  And Dragon are quite well known for being inventive with Panzer colour schemes.  Still not convinced...

The SdKfz 251/16 box art looks pretty good - especially the dramatic lighting.  I suspect the crew would be wearing headgear of some kind though.  And the guy in the middle looks awfully casual for someone operating a flamethrower!

The SdKfz 251/22 looks nice (the figures are a bit weird again, but never mind).  I think 'Greif' is my favourite of these.

Just found out a BIG error on the 280039 SdKfz 250/3 & 251/3 box cover.
The product description is wrong "cut & paste"...  Should be:

- Single 1/56 (28mm) scale plastic sprue
- Add-on product for our SdKfz 250 & SdKfz 251 base kits
- Rahmen & Stern antenna options
- Highly detailed interior
- Include five figures (including Rommel)

Sorry for the misleading info!
