Your 3D crew prototypes look great. I have a request and a suggestion about the German 3D prototype figures. First PLEASE cast your figures that are wearing tunics/feldbluse with the collar open,as you have in the prototypes. That way they can be painted up as being in Europe or in North Africa.
The  suggestion is that on the German 3D prototypes you have shown, most of the figures's tunics/feldbluse have pockets with straight edged flaps AND pleats. This is incorrect. Later tunics with the straight edge pockets did not have pleats on them, and earlier tunics with pleats on the pockets had two scallops on each flap, sort of a bat winged shape flap on them.
They have great poses. Keep up the good work!!

General Discussions / Sherman Tank Variations
« on: January 17, 2016, 01:02:18 pm »
Looking at other manufacturers Sherman kits, such the New Heller 1/72" scale kit,UM's and DML's  1/72" scale Sherman kits, they all share similar features which allow those manufacturers to have variations in their kits with just a few part changes. For example, the small hatched M4 and M4A2 Sherman share the same upper hull. The only difference between them is the engine deck. Heller cast separate engine decks for their M4 and M4A2 kits, and use the same hull for both kits.
So, with a single hull, two separate engine decks, two separate rear lower hulls and exhausts, a M4 and a M4A2 could be made from one kit easily. And with the option for two separate upper glacius plates, a earlier direct vision M4 and M4A2 could be made.
So,FOUR different versions could be made from ONE kit, having variations to represent the countries of all Sherman users.
Also, a Sherman Firefly could be made from the M4/Sherman 1c kit.
        Just a suggestion

Yes, there is also a large hatched M4A1 hull. It was used with the 76mm turret. I'm pretty sure the composite hulled M4 just had the 75mm gun turret used on it.

Thanks for the reply. That would be GREAT to see some early war armor released this year. It takes forever for me to convert the Warlord M-4 into a early M-4A1. You guys have been doing an excellent job of releasing new products In the short time that you have been around.Keep up the excellent work!!

I didn't't expect an expansion for the M5A1, you had listed an expansion set for the M3/M3A1,and you didn't say halftrack. The M5A1 and M3/M3A1 share the same suspension, and it was only wishful thinking, out loud ,I guess, that I asked the question. I'm up for any early war vehicles.

I figured as much. It was just wishful thinking that it would be for the M5A1 Stuart kit

Yes, under the 'Still WIP-Drawing board/3D Prototyping' listing is a M3/M3A1 Expansion Set. Is that for the M3/M3A1 halftrack kit, or for the M5A1 Stuart/M8 Scott kit?

Or if the hull is already assembled, you could drill out the fourth air filter from the top along the edges of the air filter, file the edges off so that it is flat with the engine deck, then fill the hole with putty and sand it flat with the engine deck

You could drill out the fourth air filter, from the inside of the hull,as it is raised up and hollow below the engine deck. You could then fill it with putty and carefully sand it flat

I like the U.S. sculpt. A couple of suggestions, though. The cartridge belt had ten pockets, five on each side. They did not make three pocket section to add to the rear of the belt as on your sculpt. The leggings could be a little longer, and the suspenders are incorrect . A good place to see pictures of U.S. and German field gear is at- http://atthefront.com/

I agree with the second pose as well. You'd be able to balance yourself easier than in the first pose, especially if traveling cross country

I definetly would purchase some of the above mentioned vehicles, especially the Panzer III G/H, the M4A1 Sherman, the Italian M-13/40, and the M-3 Lee/Grant. Pretty much anything used in North Africa!!

U.S. vehicle registration numbers were not in yellow or black, they were first painted on in blue drab, and then in 1943-1944  , they were painted on in white. It would be cool if there were a few of the registration numbers with the prefix letter 'w' on the sheet were in blue, for early war vehicles. Also , for early war vehicles, a few yellow vehicle identification stars would be good as well.

Sorry, I don't understand why you would plan to release the early M-4 Sherman suspension, but not an entire vehicle to go with it. The early M-4 suspension was not used with the later M4A3 , the only available  plastic kit that it would have been used with is the Warlord M-4.
I was just suggesting a suspension sprue that could be shared with multiple vehicles, to save on production/mold making costs.
