In similar news, Warlord’s new upcoming D Day box set contains a Sherman DD. However, It’s the existing (wrong) British Sherman DD from what I’m told..

M4A2 75mm early on and then M4A3 75mm later. I think they also got some M4A1 too.

Initially They had a choice of no Sherman’s or the Sherman with the wrong fuel, so went with the wrong fuel instead!

The DD Sherman is a good idea - maybe do the hull and collapsed skirts in one piece (no plastic M4A1 hull needed - add it to an M4 kit).

You would only need sprue A (running gear and lower hull), F (75mm turrets) and CR (crew). A resin hull with (or without) skirts.

The alternative would be a "waterline" version, resin "hull" with erected skirts and turret bayonet fitting. It would not have the "proper" skirt height above water, just enough to hide the turret.

Lower hull is totally different, so that wouldn’t work.

You’d be better off with a fully resin kit, but 6weeks probably is half the time required.

This makes me very happy ^_^

Hopefully the work done on this kit will make doing a WC61/62 much easier.

a resin kit to make a sherman into a sherman DD e.g

They’d need an M4A1 or M4A4 to do that.

While its true most were mounted in the gun barrel or bow MG mount , there were a few oddities . M4A1 with POA-CWS 75-H2 , that had the flame tube mounted to the side so the main gun was still usable (in Pacific theatre )

Easy enough to kit bash  I suppose ….

They were sent to the Pacific theatre, but war ended before any were issued to units. Any pics of them in action would be from the Korean War.

Most flamethrower versions just look like a 75mm or 105mm Sherman. New kits wouldn’t be needed.

The only exceptions would be the periscope mounted one, bow mounted one and the crocodile.

Can I be less diplomatic on “Warlord’s” (plastic soldier company’s) A4? ;)

Thanks!

You’re missing the POA-CWS-H5 from your M4A3 section though.

Buy one or three and put them in your stash... the usual routine!   ;D

3? Pffft.. amateurs ;)

Wish Lists / Re: Panzer Division (PD) Decal Sheets 190331

I agree with doing specific ones, as most customers shy away from buying the decal sheet because the cost of it for just a few of the decals.

Not sure what German ones would be required though.

Is the wirblewind a plastic or hybrid kit?

Would be nice seeing a Sherman version of this once you’re done (e4, e6, e8, etc).

Would make a nice poster too...

I’d still rather see the half track expansion packs as actual complete boxsets, priced competitively.

They are now on our online stores as special bundles "priced" competitively!  ;)

Yep, I’ve seen those, but as a retailer selling Rubicon kits it’d be nice to just have a box that is a stummel that I can sell.

Having them seperate just seems to put people off at the point of sale.

That said, I do understand that boxes and box design isn’t cheap. And that some of the expansion kits are designed to fit multiple variants.

The 251/22 would be an ideal kit to combine first.

Their resin tanks are so nice. I cannot stress this.

I had some people looking at my French tanks at the weekend and were wondering where I got plastic French R35 and H35 from.

Unless you’re planning of hacking them apart to kitbash, why do they need to be plastic?
