Wish Lists / Panzer 38t
« on: July 25, 2023, 09:27:31 am »
Any way the Panzer 38t ausf B could be put on the wishlist? Warlord's 38t ausf E is okay, but nobody makes the ausf B , in plastic, resin or even 3d printed.
Please consider this and add it to the list.
       Thanks

General Discussions / Panzer 38t
« on: July 25, 2023, 09:23:29 am »
Even though there hasn't been much activity here, I thought I would post this. I've been trying to convert Warlord's 38t, from a 38t Ausf E to a Ausf B without much luck in doing so.There's a lot of small small parts to try to make to the front turret armor and the front upper hull. Is there any chance that  earlier models of the Panzer 38t ,and the Panzer 35t could be put on Rubicon's wish list???
     Thanks

General Discussions / Small Arms and Equipment Sets
« on: July 10, 2020, 11:54:46 pm »
Rubicon,
Do you think it would be worthwhile to make and sell small arms and equipment sets for the main combatants and their allies? They're aren't any sets out there of rifles,sub-machine guns, or light machine guns, aside from a small pewter set.
I was building a plastic  M-3 Stuart, and compared the 1919 light machine gun from that kit to your Allied equipment set's 1919. There are some differences as far as size. With a weapons and equipment set, one could standardize the light machine guns on their kits, even from different manufactures.
On pictures of tanks in the field, besides blankets, tarps, boxes and fuel cans, you see sets of canteens strung across the turret, breadbags and infantry packs in close reach in case the tank has to be abandoned.
One could also use field equipment in conversions of existing infantry sets. One could use French leather ammo pouches,French canteens and French weapons to convert either the Warlord 8th army or Commonwealth set into Free French. I've read of people using the Warlord Japanese infantry sets and converting them into World War One German infantry.
 What do you think?.

General Discussions / M4A1 Decal Sheet
« on: May 11, 2020, 02:36:54 am »
Since you posted the preview for the Panzer 3 decal sheet, which is spectacular, any chance of a preview of the decal sheet  for the upcoming M4A1 Sherman kit?? Some blue registration number decals would be great. Also a mailed fist surrounded by lightning bolts decal for the 1st Armored Division , G company, in North Africa .These would add some color to the olive drab vehicle, along with the yellow stars, stripes and company insignia used early in North Africa

General Discussions / M32B1
« on: October 27, 2018, 09:55:37 am »
On Rubicon's Facebook page,  they list the M32 recovery vehicle based on the M4A1 chassis ,the M32B1,as a future resin kit. It is shown as being in the 3D drawing phase of development.
Why would Rubicon make a resin and a plastic M4A1chassis and hull? Has the late production small hatch M4A1 plastic hull been placed on hold??????

Showcase & Gallery / Rubicon M4 Conversion to M4A1

This is my first attempt at posting a photo on this forum. I hope it works.
It looks like Rubicon will not release their M4A1 kit until some time next year, so I decided to try and convert the Rubicon M4 into a M4A1.
When Rubicon released their M4 and M4A2 (and M4A3), they did not include a hull with the direct vision ports, so I thought that I would give it a try.
I know that Rubicon have posted pictures on this forum of a M4A1 with the direct vision ports that they are to release at some point.

General Discussions / RUBICON'S M-4A2 SHERMAN TANK
« on: November 12, 2017, 12:56:08 am »
Yesterday I stopped at my local hobby shop, and the owner informed me that the new Rubicon kits were in stock. I purchased a CMP 15cwt and a 75mm M4A2 Sherman kit.
The detail on both kits are excellent. I am especially impressed with the M4A2 kit. Seeing your posts of this kit on the forum from the beginning, from prototype to built kits, I was a bit sceptical. The level of detail overall is excellent. I especially like the M34 early gun mantle with the bolts around the mantle, and the detail by the co-axial machine gun. The detail on the mantle far surpasses the only other available M34 mantle on the market, that of the Warlord/Italeri Churchill kit.
Thank you, Rubicon, for actually listening and making changes given on your forum. I believe that the M4A2 is you best kit to date. I am really looking forward to your upcoming M4, and especially your M4A1 kits

General Discussions / Sherman Tank Variations
« on: January 17, 2016, 01:02:18 pm »
Looking at other manufacturers Sherman kits, such the New Heller 1/72" scale kit,UM's and DML's  1/72" scale Sherman kits, they all share similar features which allow those manufacturers to have variations in their kits with just a few part changes. For example, the small hatched M4 and M4A2 Sherman share the same upper hull. The only difference between them is the engine deck. Heller cast separate engine decks for their M4 and M4A2 kits, and use the same hull for both kits.
So, with a single hull, two separate engine decks, two separate rear lower hulls and exhausts, a M4 and a M4A2 could be made from one kit easily. And with the option for two separate upper glacius plates, a earlier direct vision M4 and M4A2 could be made.
So,FOUR different versions could be made from ONE kit, having variations to represent the countries of all Sherman users.
Also, a Sherman Firefly could be made from the M4/Sherman 1c kit.
        Just a suggestion
