Very good.
What did you use for the crew figures?
-
Nice paintjob & weathering :)
UVS - I think that the crew models are a mixture of WG minis - the driver & R/O are their pewter tank crew while the one on the .50 cal is one of the plastics (could be either one of the standard l/w infantry or the commandos - with a beret head on).

Very nice - I haven't seen a painted up Stuart Recce since Rubicon's prototype. I've been trying to find out if the Guards (who were issued Stuart VIs) converted any of them into Recces.
-
British Tanks in Normandy page 103 states "from July onwards the latter (Recce Regiment) began to remove the turret", but it is unclear if this includes the Guards Armoured Division and their M5A1 Stuart VI.
-
Yes, it's annoyingly vague. My guess is that the Guards frowned on such vandalism of equipment. I've found some posts on forums which support this, but I don't know. I have a WiP Recce intended as a Guards vehicle - and jfariahitech's model is very inspiring. Especially the figures.

Very nice model indeed. Good Job! :)

I would think if the Guards had a Stuart with a damaged turret , beyond repair , that they might remove it and use the hull as a command / radio vehicle of some sort . The Germans put a Pzr IV turret ona Bergeppanther , the Yugoslaves ( sp ? ) removed the turrets from their Stuarts and added a Pak 75 and a Quad 20mm Flak mount . There's also pictures out there of a command version of the Staghound AC with the turret and roof plate removed for some General . So units weren't adverse to using what ever they had and converting it to what they needed . Of course a Guards vehicle would probably have fresh paint and not a spot of dust ;D

Great job. I like that very much. :)
