Alte for versatility and cuteness.

Ah, just commented in another thread before seeing this one, will crosspost here to keep the conversation in one spot: If an M4A1 could also slide into work for an M4A5 Canadian Ram variants, I'ld grab a mob of Kangaroos ^,^

Yay, there's still hope for a Challenger.

If you consider the M4A1, I hope that could include the M4A5 Canadian Ram variants.  I'ld snap up a handful of Ram Kangaroos!

Do the barrels need to be glued in, or can they be slid on and off for swaps after assembly?

Doing 2 kits makes sense for those of us who paint all the markings on vehicles.  M5/M8 for US, M5/Jalopy for foreigners.

I wouldn't be in the market for more 15cwt trucks for myself, as I'm currently in the process of converting resin Morris trucks into Canadian Military Pattern ones.  However, I do think the CMP truck would be a better choice than the Morris.  It was used by all Commonwealth nations and Russia.

Once you have the cab design done, then you can swap in other body styles, and larger bodies.  And I'ld be in for a 30cwt CMP!

Is a Cromwell/Challenger kit possible?

I'd be in for a troop of 4 (3 Cromwell + 1 Challenger) for a late-war 1st Polish Armoured Division troop.

While not many Challengers were made, the Cromwell/Challenger combo may prove popular as an alternative image to the Sheman/Firefly combo troop.

The most popular kits for the most popular armies sell the best, no matter how many other companies are making them.  And companies with the popular kits also attract more customers than companies with only niche items.  That has always held true in every scale, every period.  There has always been a longer line of new gamers looking for the basics than old hipsters looking for the same obscure niche.

So I'm happy to see a variety of choices in kit-design style so I can choose my preferred model to build.

Now if one company has an M10 with a 17pdr gun option, I know which one I'm buying!
(Canadians aren't that obscure, they had their own entire beach on D-Day  8) )

An M20 to with any one of the proposed TD's would be sweet.  And the M8 to go with the M8, oooh. ^,^

I'ld buy 2 primarily to use as M8's and the cornerstone of building elements of a US Armored Recon Battalion.

It would be great if the various turret options can be swapped out, and then I'ld also use them for recce with the Canadians

Given that (1) the M5A1 wasn't widely used by the Commonwealth forces, and (2) this turret ring doesn't seem to have been a feature of the Recce/Kangaroo, if you produce this version you'll end up with a rather obscure vehicle…

I have no idea about the frequency of the MG ring — but it's cute!

However, for those of us modelling the Canadian army, info on wwiitanks.co.uk is that Canada used 3,427 Stuart V  and 2,075 Stuart VI.  So for myself, I wouldn't be fussed about using either the M3 or M5 for variations.

The M5/M8 combo certainly makes the most sense for the basic kit, and given that, I'd be happy to have any recce version that works too.

If the GMC option is available, I'ld get 2!  Royal Canadian Dragoons used them right til the end of the war.

Hmm, buckets.  Also, shovels and picks with the brackets that hold them onto the sides of vehicles.

For German tanks, I would variants of the 38t would be great and lend themselves nicely to multi-kit options.  (The Czech company SDV Model has done a lovely series of kits in 1/87 re-using the chassis parts in each one.)

The cutest one which I would absolutely have to get is the recon tank 140/1 with the 222 turret ^,^
http://www.sdvmodel.cz/index.php?page=shop.product_details&product_id=39&flypage=garden_flypage.tpl&pop=0&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=53&lang=ru

(And of course the 222 turret would lend itself to doing the 222 itself, and the 250/9 halftrack which would also be irresistibly cute; and while not in the tank category, if you had a 250 variety of kits, I'ld have to build a whole Recon force with them!)

But back to the 38t variants, a Marder/Grille multi-kit would be very nice, and of course a Hetzer, and even options for the Flakpanzer model.
