Title: DAK Diorama for Britcon 2017
Post by: Rubicon Models on August 10, 2017, 02:26:34 pm
Diorama by our Community Rep, Steve Perry, for Britcon this coming weekend in Manchester, UK (Aug 11 to 13).
...and yes, all figures, vehicles, and stowage are from Rubicon Models, except for the trees!  ;)

That's awesome!  You can almost feel the heat.  Lots of lovely little details - like Rommel enjoying the shade while everyone else bakes in the sun!  A great advertisement for your figures as well.

Looks great . Nice to see the various kits all used together . Reminds me of photo spreads from the old  Tamiya catalogue back in the 70s . Who does make those palm trees ? They look a lot better than any I've been able to find in the local hobby / craft stores

Very good.

So when do you start work on doing trees?

Fab  8)

Quite apart from everything else, that's an excellent job on the groundwork.

I agree that the groundwork is really good.  The texture is the right scale - a lot of people get that wrong.

The quality of the painting etc does tend to highlight the shortcomings in the Panzer III kit.  Especially when compared to the half-track and truck.

As you know, the Panzer III kit is one of our earliest kits.  Going to get replaced by two (or three) new kits next year... no worries!

It's a tribute to Steve's skill that the Panzer IIIs look as good as they do.  Please get him to do some more!
