Part BO3 , to be mounted on the grill of the LRDG jeep is not an air filter as listed on the plans . It is a condenser can to hold the overflow of expanding  boiling  water when the  motor is running hot , as  it cools it gets sucked back into the radiator . None of this all temp anti freeze type stuff we have today , just straight H2O back in the 40s  . Easy mistake to make , Rubicon , it looks like an air filter dosen't it ?

In photographs there is a visible hose leading to the top of the part.

If you follow the instructions exactly, then no worries. However, the instructions do not warn you about the four wheels. Be careful when you attach the four wheels because parts B09 and B10 are not the same as parts B18 and B19. Follow the instructions carefully. If you look closely, you will see a difference between the two sets of wheels and they should not be mixed together. B18 and B19 are the front wheels while B09 and B10 are the back wheels. Hope this helps.

My friend just recently built a Rubicon Jeep and got two of the wheels switched. He cut all four wheels from the sprue at that same time. He then glued all four wheels onto part B40 without noticing the subtle difference between the front the back wheels. As a result, he got two of them placed wrong, so now he has one front and one rear wheel at the front of the Jeep, and one front and one rear wheel at the back of the Jeep.

;D  We've all done something like that . Beat this one , swapping legs on some BA Russians for a more dramatic running / leaping pose . Figure finished , painted and based . " Look what Grand Dad just finished " says I to my 5 year old Grand Daughter . " Why does he have two left legs "? says she .  ::)

Regarless, Rubicon's instructions are pretty good, but I'm surprised there wasn't a simple note of caution for the model builder for the wheels. Maybe at the time, the person responsible for the instructions didn't notice and had not built the kit yet. Or if they did, did notice this subtle detail.

While it is annoying , and I can see how the mix up can happen . When reading the plans , which you should always do to figure out whats - what ( Dragon  :o ) ,you should take note that all 4 wheels have different numbers , so should be placed in certain spots . If all are numbered the same , then they should fit any wheel  spot .  And yes , a note on the plans  to point this out to new  model builders would probably be a good idea
