General Discussions / Salute 2018 - Thank You 190415

So who’s going?

And what goodies will Rubicon have to show and for sale?

I’m hoping for all the Q1 (pewter/resin/plastic) bits and really hoping for some infantry too.

Wish Lists / WC51/WC62
« on: December 14, 2017, 05:42:05 pm »
Does anyone think it’d be possible to do this in one kit? I think probably doubtful as you would need two different flat beds, sides and tarpaulin.

I guess if it was two kits, at least all of the front end is the same!

Had some nice staff car, AT gun and ambulance variants too.

My preference would be the WC62 as a couple companies already do the WC51 and the 1 1/2t truck slot is very lacking for the US army in terms of gaming.

Wish Lists / M4A2 DD tank
« on: May 26, 2017, 02:40:54 am »
A DD tank for the US based on an M4A2 would be nice. There is another DD tank on the market, but it's an M4A4 which the US didnt use (even if that company sell it as a US tank as well as commonwealth...)

Should be "easy" enough to do in resin using existing drawings for your plastic M4A2. Would need some alterations to the lower hull.

Showcase & Gallery / Sherman US medium tank company project
« on: May 04, 2017, 02:35:07 am »
So I enjoy Shermans. A lot. And I enjoy Rubicon kits. A lot. So I thought why not make a project combining the two?

So here it is. A company of Shermans. It is mostly Rubicon kits with a few Warlord, Trenchworx and Blitzkrieg kits thrown in.

The end goal will probably be a battalion...

Showcase & Gallery / M32 ARV (Rubicon M4A3E8 conversion)

So with a company of Shermans, I need an M32 recovery tank. As far as I'm aware no one makes one in 1:56 scale, so I asked a friend of mine who's much better at scratch building (he makes stuff for JTFM currently) to make me one.

I am honestly stunned at what he did over the bank holiday weekend!

I collect it at the end of the month, so will get it painted as soon as possible.

Wish Lists / Higgins boat

How about thinking completely out of the box...

A Higgins boat in 1:56 would be pretty damn cool

Wish Lists / M3 Lee/Grant
« on: July 21, 2015, 06:00:29 am »
Following on with an early war theme, is the M3 anywhere in the plans?

You've got the Lee for the U.S. and the grant for Great Britain and also the Soviet Union lend lease versions.

Plus the chassis could be used for an M7 priest, defrocked priest and M31 ARV

Wish Lists / T26 (vickers 6-ton/7TP)
« on: July 17, 2015, 05:42:27 am »
How about something really early war?

T26 had many variants like dual turret with MMG, light AT gun, howitzer, flamethrower plus many others..

Also could be made into the vickers 6-ton and polish 7TP as from memory the only thing that is different is the turret engine cooling. The British also used a turret less version as an artillery tractor.

I know it's probably not the most popular kit, but there's the potential to cover multiple kits in one for multiple nations. Finland, Thailand, Soviet Union, China, Poland to name a few.

General Discussions / Rubicon in the future
« on: June 15, 2015, 01:34:23 am »
So here's a general query really.

At the moment you're making tanks (and really nice tanks I must add). Is there any plans or musings that in the future you may produce plastic infantry kits too?

General Discussions / Release schedule?
« on: May 11, 2015, 01:11:20 am »
Would it be possible to have a sticky thread in the work in progress sectionwhich has your expected release schedule on? It'd be handy to know the rough timescale for releases in one place instead of mentioned within other threads.

Obviously put a caveat on it that they may change at any time though!

Hey all, just to let you know that the 2D6 Lodge in Cambridge, UK will be hosting a Bolt Action tournament called "A (Cam)Bridge Too Far" in March 2016. So plenty of time to work out what army to bring/build!

At the moment it is scheduled for Saturday the 12th March 2016 and will cost £15.

Please like our Facebook page, www.facebook.com/acambridgetoofar and you will be kept up to date with all the details as they are released.

Wish Lists / US/British jeeps?
« on: January 31, 2015, 07:39:00 am »
After your post the other day on the M3 half-track and sliding moulds, you mentioned jeeps. Is this something that is in the pipeline for this year?

If a plastic jeep kit was available that would be awesome. Being small, would they fit on a single frame? Could multiple jeeps come in one box? Would there be enough space for the .30/.50 cal?

Still a couple of details to pick out (tools), but was a lovely kit to build and paint.

Wish Lists / US tanks/Tank destroyers
« on: October 11, 2014, 02:32:22 am »
Is there any plans for an M10/M36 tank destroyer? Could be a great chance to do a multipurpose kit.

Also, M26 Pershing or M24 Chaffee? There's a big lack of choice currently out there for these kits and plastic would be a dream!
