Renault FT Light Tank - 3D Prototypes 210628

New Project for the Month of June - Renault FT Light Tank

The Renault FT Light Tank is one of the topmost requested vehicles we have on our project Wist List, and it is now a reality!

Early gamers and modellers rejoice!  Key features include a choice of drive wheels and sprockets, cast or riveted turrets, multiple gun choices, and optional interior details for the driver and engine compartment!

We are also working diligently to include both the FT and M1917 builts, but due to an excessive amount of minor detail differences, we will have to wait and see...

NOTE: These are still preliminary drawings subject to change as the project making progress.

Enjoy!

Another inspired choice, will it include German  ww2 markings for captured vehicles and will there be other ww1 kits in future?

Very nice choice, Rubicon. It will go nicely with Wargames Atlantic's upcoming range of Great War French infantry.

Lovely, and there’s always the TSF version to do as a conversion.

Have you considered including the German cupola installed on captured vehicles, it's only a small part.

This looks great - a whole lot of options from WW1 via back of beyond to the Spanish Civil War and even WW2   :D

Compared to the standard French cupola, how much different was the German WW2 cupola?

Did the cupola lid open on the French version , I haven't found any pictures ? On the  Char B the Germans cut the top of the dome and welded on hatches  ,  and it really stands out as  the cuts and welds look rough , the FT hatch looks almost factory (note internal detail in pic 3 )

The red cupolas seem to have a different rear rim than the blue one , seems logical thats where a hinge might be located .

These are our studio 3D prototypes for the Renault FT tanks which include the standard FT tank with casted & riveted turrets and the TSF command tank.

You might also notice we had dropped the M1917 variant due to a relatively large number of minor detail changes and limited sprue space.  An unfortunate sacrifices but you do get the more useful TSF variant.

Enjoy!
