M4A1 Medium tank
« on: October 16, 2017, 08:54:33 pm »
Has Rubicon Models considered or are planning on producing a model kit of the M4A1 medium tank? You know, the one with the full cast hull. I ask because no other model manufacture makes a 1/56th scale M4A1 in plastic.

With about 6300 produced, the M4A1 was not an obscure version of the tank.

Side note - which most of you probably already know:
The M4A1 was the second version of the tank to be standardized but was actually the first in the series to enter full production. The M4A1 was used by the American, British, and Soviet forces.

There is a wishlist sub-forum for anything you would like Rubicon to consider here:

They even added War Department logos to the British Jerry cans...

Their end goal is every variant of Sherman as all he parts from all their Sherman kits will be interchangable.

Thanks ultravanillasmurf for the link(s). Looking at the Production Schedule, it seems that the M4A1 is still a long way off from actually happening, but when it comes out it will be the first plastic M4A1 kit available.

I couldn't help but notice the following on the Production Schedule list. Most items are of interest, but a few I rated in order of my eagerness to get one.

#1 - PaK 40 AT Gun with Crew in late war uniform
#2 - SdKfz 222/223/260/261
#3 - SdKfz 7 Halftrack

And of course the M4A1.

Look through the threads in the Work in Progress forum and you'll see plenty of information about the kits you're interested in.

As Pinky notes, there are threads covering these in the work in progress sub forum, see above.

Wow, thanks ultravanillasmurf. I missed the post on the Pak 38 and Pak 40 AT guns showing the sprue details. This must mean they are very close to releasing these?

I can wait!  :)
