Work In Progress / Re: Jagdpanzer 38 Hetzer - NEW Expansion Kit?? 171218

So would this be a new kit or would it be an expansion?

I love autocorrect, I have visions of gun crews in stripey jumpers and tricorn hats...

The 25 pounder is an on table asset in Bolt Action, and an AT gun for North Africa.

The Panzer IV is only a work in progress.

I suspect that once that is in production, that the jagdpanzer will join the design queue.

I am so very excite to see the M4A1 (75 and 76mm) version of the Hull Kit.

Will you have the option to build the three piece and single Transmission covers?

What is the release date of this Multi-Kit?

Cheers,

Mike
Earlier in the thread we were told that the three part transmission cover was included in the M4A1 kit. It was also mentioned that an earlier (M3 type)  chassis was to be an option.

There would appear to be two kits, one for small hatch with 75mm turret and large with 76mm turret. No 3d work has been shown so we will have to wait.

In the meantime we will have to build some Sherman Is and IIIs.

While thinking about another M3 derived vehicle,  I was reminded of the Canadian Grizzly. Similar to a US built M4A1, there are a few differences.

Not sure if they could be added to the M4A1 kit.

Need to Re -edit this: [ur]http://ultravanillasmurf.blogspot.co.uk/2016/02/grizzling-m4a5-grizzly.html[/url], the M4A5 is the Ram II.

I have photographs of the example at Southsea somewhere.

Lots of differences between the A1 and the ram I’m afraid. I’d be surprised if they could do it in one kit.

Different hull, tracks, headlights, turret, front sprocket.
I was not expecting the Ram or Ram II, though the M3 would provide the chassis. I was talking about the Grizzly. The link is to photographs of the Grizzly formerly at Duxford.

I would like Rams for Kangaroo purposes.

You might want to increase the gun's diameter to 155mm ^__^. [Edit] done ^__^

Not sure if it was more important than say a Priest (and hey, I would prefer the Sexton).

You might want to wait until the M4A1 comes out, I remember Rubicon mentioning they were doing the M3 style bogies on the M4A1 kit (which might allow the Grizzly to be built from it).

Though not strictly an anIt tank weapon, I would add the 25 pounder, used as AT in North Africa.

Oh and airborne six pounder is another variant on the six pounder theme.

Will it be able to swapped between the towed and the deployed cruciform base?

Yes the BA Marder III is the SdKfz 139 , with the Russian 76.2 gun . The H had a larger upper hull / crew compartment and the 75mm Pak 40/3

Thanks, yeah that's what I thought! Not sure what it says about WLG that the boxes etc for the model have Ausf H on them....?  ;D

And there's no Italari logo on the Marder box, so it definitely isn't one of theirs.
If it is derived from the PSC kit, then it is possible that the box contains components for both.

@Pinky,  my thoughts on its origin are based on the similarity to the Sherman V /VC kits.

@Jimmy_P: The Marder III M needs a different chassis, the engine is moved. It certainly looks like the Soviet armed vehicle, but the PSC kit offers both the 138 and 139.

It looks like a later type.  Probably, as you say, an Ausf E or F.
My assumption is that it is at least based on if not an upscaled PSC Panzer 38(t) hence it's companion Marder III also not being what people want.

The more you look, the more you see. Just noticed the open bins on the back. Amazing.

Thanks.

I have drilled the lift ring above the mantlet, the two on the glacis and the two at the back. Not sure if I would have been better replacing them. The ones at the back are difficult because of the angle.

I will use the liquid poly type stippling, I still have the HMG mounting point to smooth off.

I am looking for a post war look, not sure whether to go for that Tokyo Ordnance Depot style or more of an IDF look. Not convinced about a spare wheel on the turret, and the spare sprockets would be entertaining to make.

Not completely convinced the blanket shelf would be good for 160kg.

Currently mislaid my Osprey Sherman 76mm modeling book, so stowage is still to be designed.

Some more work in progress

Infantry telephone for better tank - infantry cooperation.

Three quarter rear view showing the rack of jerry cans.

The cans are built with the two cans and the four can moulding from the kit plus two cans cut from the four can moulding from the Allied Stowage set.

The white mark on the turret roof is where I have plugged the HMG position before removal.
