Wish Lists / Re: SUGGESTIONS - The Next Allied Stowage Set
« on: December 26, 2017, 12:08:04 am »
Having assembled the M4A3E8,  I am now trying to decide about stowage.

One thing I am short on is spare HVSS wheels.

For the VVSS Shermans individual track links for the turret.

Both sets are good.

It might be worth having a look at the wish list for the next set:

Can i suggest an update set for the desert sas version with extra spare wheel ,loads of jerry cans ammo boxes and stowage etc. Maybe a US or British radio sets for the airborne/recce versions
It might be worth looking at this Allied Stowage set.

Though spare wheels, crew and additional weapons to match the Boot Action LRDG load out would be useful.

Shortened jerry can set (one W^D can, half of the four can moulding and a German one).

Making a warlord metal artillery piece is just as interesting.
I have contemplated taking a soldering iron to them...

I have to admit that in that period, for me it would have been Airfix (still the base standard for plastic kits even today).

Exotica would have been Tamiya, it was rare to see other manufacturers (even Revell and Monogram).

Back to the infantry etc.

Please can I make a plea for sane instructions (as opposed to no, or nearly no instructions) and kit that is identified as going on a particular pose.

I am assembling some Blitzkrieg Germans to support my Sea Lion Panzer IB, and getting the right belt hung kit to fit is a nightmare.

Arms and weapons are not quite as annoying, but properly numbered parts and instructions will help.

This is slightly different in that their US distribution is getting into the act.

Previously the only contract work they have shown was the T26 master, though there is plenty of mentions of the effects of the contract work.

As I said an interesting move and one to be applauded.

I wonder what the empty sprue section is for?  It's still going to take up space in the box, so there must be a reason for it.

We also wonder...  there must be a reason for it!  ::)
It could be a packing space, parts of the other sprues may intrude into it so it will fit in the two sprue box form.

It could be where all the bits that are no longer needed because of the multi-slide nature of the tool.

Or they could just surprise us.

An interesting vehicle. Very modern but retro.

All becomes slightly clearer.

Does that mean there is a Bergepanzer upper hull as well?

Will it be 2 and a half sprues, or will that empty sprue space be used for something else....? (Like some Soviet tank commanders, pleeeeeease?)  ;D
I was thinking 7TP and Vickers.

Looking good.

I have not tracked down where the insert for the track is located on the sprue.
