I always thought the paint schemes on the tanks used in  SCW  were really neat and colorful . Won't help you hide in a wheat field or forest  though

Maybe I'll just tack the rear plate to the tank and rework it when this sprue is released . Any idea when its shipping ???

It the exhausts that are going to be problem I think . Its the molded on bits that make it tricky .  Might just swap some out from one of my Warlord Panthers or might just leave them . So many pictures show a myriad of variations on Panther builds , including a D mail slot bow gun with a late G chin gun mantlet  , those crazy Germans  ::)

Picked up a Rubicon Panther D/A this weekend ( still waiting for my Puma from the LHS  ::) )  I've decided I want to build it as an early / mid D . So I have to remove the pilsen mounts from the turret roof , as well as the close defence weapon and loaders periscope . I saved the periscope as I have to add it to the bow gunner's front . I also need a second headlight , and I have to reposition the handles on the driver / mg hatches . The turret needs triple smoke dischargers on the sides , as well as the 3 pistol ports and the " communication " hatch on the commander's side of the turret . And lastly move the jack horizontally under the exhausts . All real easy things to do , mostly slicing bits off with a sharp chisel blade , and glueing bits on from the parts box . If I really want to go crazy I could remover every other outer rim bolt on the road wheels , early wheels had 16 , but were prone to rim failure , so the later rims had 32 . Maybe I'll just skip that part  ::)

If it all works out I should end up with something like this

Or maybe this ....

Today's news letter says that Warlord's forums should be up and running soon .  While I never bothered with the " what's wrong with the game and how it should be changed "  posts , I really liked seeing what people have done conversion wise with the figures as well as the awesome paint jobs

I  wonder if Rubicon would consider a Sherman add on kit like the have for their German half tracks ? You could have a bolted and the 2 versions of the cast nose , separate pieces for the front and side applique armor , extra single spare track links , as well as some in the Brit style 3 link holder found on the glacis plate and the verticle one the US mounted on the hull rear . They could even include a set each of the early and late style bogies . It would be more a modeller kind of kit as you'ld have to rework bits to fit the paticuler kit you were using , but  there seem to be a few of us can't build it out of the box guys out here  :-[

Most bodies in the early sets are compatible , people do come in different heights and widths ,  its the late war German and Brit (BA's first plastic kits ? ) arms that are slightly off - too short and skinny IMO . I throw most of them away  ::) I saw in the news release Warlord was mentioning that you get  bazooka arms   that actually look good . I must admit the old set was a real PIA to put together unless you did a little surgery . I think I have one arm on my figure that's made of 4 different pieces to make it fit properly and look right . Probably cut up half a dozen arms to get one the worked , ah the joys of kit bashing

A scale plastic Dingo would be nice . I use my 1/48 Tamiya Dingo to proxy  as the Canadian built Lynx which was really just a larger version of the Dingo with a V8 engine and some minor body panel / stowage changes . It might not be exact in relation to scale but with 28mm figures , stowage and weapons it looks " right ".

I'm not really well versed in Brit Armored cars I'm afraid , although I do like the Stag Hound as we Canadians  and the Poles used it

While all these new plastic sets for Bolt Action are easier to put together , most guys end up having a lot of the same figures on the game table .  I still mix and match my figures using the older single figure and weapons sprues  to get unique kit bashed troops   . I wonder if Warlord is going to delete some of these earlier sets and weather I should pick up a few sprues during the next 2 for 1 sprue sale ?

From the various pictures out there , all seem to be different , I guess depending on the skill and access to materials that the REME shop had  handy . Some seem to be just the turret ring with a couple of welded  posts to mount a machine gun on front and rear  , some look to have the mg  ring mount from a M8 armored car  or 2 1/2 ton truck for  their mg mount . You could pull the skate ring from a M3 armored car or early M2 or 3 halftrack but cutting it and bending it to a perfect circle seems like a job for a factory not a front line type repair shop IMO ' I think angled ring around the turret base  would be welded plate used as a shield to stop shrapnel , again  the shape of which would depend on the skill of the  builder . Some look to have the hull roof plate removed  by cutting torch leaving a ragged square ending just behind the driver's hatch . I would say your free to build as you please with so many variations

Neat . Found a couple of 1/35 Recce builds showing interiors that might give you a few ideas .

Don't know how accurate these are , but IMO they look the part  ;D . From pictures of the real vehicle , there seems to be no two alike in armament , 50s , 30s , BRENs even MG 42s .  And the same goes with stowage . I would think it would have ammo and  radios ( 2 or more for command track ) inside but there seems to be no hard and fast rule of where . Just go for it
