*Sigh* more pewter...

These certainly look very nice - especially the stowage.  I'd probably get them if they were resin.

I'm not sure why you're focused so much on diorama builders when the kits are primarily aimed at wargaming, but I guess you have to cover all bases.

The 3D drawings look nice, and I'm sure it will be a nice vehicle, but it being in resin, and with Italeri/Warlord releasing one in plastic, how well would it sell? It would have to be one heck of a resin kit in order for someone to purchase a resin kit over a plastic kit.
I hate to say it, but I think that you've dropped the ball on this project

Yeah, agreed.

It's pointless, I know, but - please don't keep doing metal and resin hybrids.  Or, if you must, stick to large models rather than smaller, more intricate things like this.

Wow - it looks as though Warlord are doing what I wanted Rubicon to do - a combination M13/40 and Semovente kit.

That 2-pdr looks very log-like.  I hope it is a 3-inch howitzer.  It otherwise doesn't look bad at all.  Any early war armour is very welcome.

This looks lovely - quite an improvement on the Kubelwagen.

It's totally understandable with a kit of this size; it would be crazy to do it in plastic.  But putting out resin / metal hybrids of more modestly sized subjects seems like a backward step.

Wish Lists / Re: M4A3E2 Jumbo Resin Conversion Kit

I agree this would be a very good subject for a resin upgrade set (given we won't likely be getting an all-plastic Jumbo any time soon).  I don't like resin kits much, but resin add-ons are fine.  I agree it wouldn't need new tracks; the existing 'duckbills' are fine.  So it would mean either a new hull (or armour panels to attach to the plastic M4A3E8 hull) and a new turret.  I would hope there were no metal parts, as I really dislike metal components on plastic or resin vehicles.

I’m sure it will be a quality product, but I had thought that Rubicon was going to make resin / metal hybrid kits a thing of the past.

I agree 100% with Tracks.  While I’m sure it will be a high quality resin model, I have as much interest in resin vehicles as I do in metal figures.  Also - Warlord have just released the same vehicle in resin, so it’s not well timed.

The Russians are by far the best.  I guess these will be metal?

Happy New Year.

I have to admit to taking a while to identify the M1A1 DV as Direct Vision....

Well "DV" isn't a term you'll find in any historical source.  It just became a big issue during this kit's development.  The 2 M4A1 versions are still confused in the illustration above.

We didn't love the original because , as a scale model , it had things wrong with it that were not easy to fix , and it  looked  "off" next to other companies Panzer IIIs .

Agreed - it's actually a pretty bad model.  Aside from the errors, the detail is poor.  As I understand it, the original Rubicon Panzer III pre-dates their in-house design capability.  They were stuck with something sub-standard (it's noticably inferior to Rubicon's first kit, the Panzer IV, which still looks pretty good, IMO).  Having invested that much, they had to release it to recoup the costs.

I saw this on the FB site.  This is more like it!  I knew you could do a much better resin model than Neucraft's.

Yes I know, Ripley.  But it doesn't look right.  Rubicon still seem to struggle with depicting soft stowage.
