Here's an early stage of my WG/Rubicon SdKfz 234/1 kitbash - the Rubicon turret fits pretty well & the end result is certainly preferable to a resin/pewter kit.
As is apparent, the colour modulation I've used came out quite bright & it'll take the weathering stage to tone it down. The paint themselves are a mix of Mig & AK (Mig's Dunklegelb modulation set & AK's German Camoflage modulation set).
I've done a couple of crewmen for the turret (again from the Rubicon turret kit) - they fit quite well though you can only really see the tops of their heads & shoulders if you use the anti-grenade mesh.

I was inspired by Ballardian's 234/1 to make one of these for myself. Also, I have several extra turrets - 1x from Rubicon's 250 expansion kit and 3x from Rubicon's 222 armored car kits - so this was a good inspiration for me to use one of them.

Here is my WG/Rubicon SdKfz 234/1 kit-bash. One note though. The Rubicon turret sort of fits, and it works better (full 360 degree rotation) if you do some modifications. I removed the bottom ring protrusion and moved the "L" hooks inward for a much better fit. I also added curved tabs to the front and back to keep the turret centered, and to keep it from shifting about. Alternatively, you can modify the hull to fit the turret, but by modifying the turret, you can still use the original 234/2 turret. This way you can switch turrets giving you the option to have either a 234/1 or a 234/2.

Looks good . Great idea being able to swap the turrets for different point values in BA

They both look really good. Nice work

Lovely job Tracks :) hopefully once the rush to baint a bunch of stuff for Call of Cthulhu is off (we've got a WWI scenario starting on the 11th for the anniversary of the Armistice) I can finish mine!
You're right about adapting the turret to fit, it doesn't take much & the end result is a pretty sastisfying one.
