Hi, nice and roomy here :-)

I am far to old to be playing with toy soldiers but that never stopped me. Did my time on THAT fantasy game and enjoyed it until they screwed it over too much. Now all historical with predominantly Warlord Games rules plus a few other of what we call 'samll games' ir skirmished with a couple of dozen models max and a board full of terrain.

Bolt Action is by far my favourite WW2 game and although I have predominantly Germans (Heer, Fallshirmjaeger and SS) I am working my way around the world by army. In many ways it takes me back to the endless Airfix kits of my childhood but with games attached.

BTW I answer to Terry although my username is Morsleib

So here's me;
Born in 1955! Joined British army in 71' went in to the armoured corps, served in Chieftains for 12 yrs. Left, joined the TA, did 12 yrs with them, started off doing Airfix tanks and kits as a young lad, plus the toy soldiers, wargamed for hours in the garden lol! Moved on to Napoleonics then back to WW2, and that's been the story of me, back and forth. Had two sons, one grew up interested in wargaming, he went it to Warhammer  :o  but he also shows an interest in Vikings and WW2, so we do have something in common. Recenty decided to go in to WW2 propper, in 15mm, the main reason is we want to do 1946, what if, and we can only get the required vehicles from Heer46 in 15mm, then I saw Rubicon! So now we are doing both  :o
I'm painting 15mm figs and vehicles and 28mm plastic Brits, Germans and Russians and saving madly for the release of the Rubicon tanks  :) :)

Hey there. I'm an Aussie who started off playing GW games nearly two decades ago. Started my first historical type game with Bolt Action 18 months ago and am a regular contributor on the LRDG podcast and over at boltaction.net (a fan site not officially affiliated with Warlord Games).
Unable to restrain myself I have large Bolt Action armies for the Germans, Soviets, Finns, Hungarians and Canadian Paras. Looking for to adding some Rubicon tanks to the mix and doing some reviews to help spread the word.

Hi Hi

Just started playing bolt action in August. I have been modeling and painting minitures since the late 80s, started out with Battletech. My first miniature ever was an Atlas I painted pink and purple with pink and purple polkadots.

I'm building an 82nd Airborne army for Bolt Action, my Grandfather was a medic with the 82nd. I really love what I see in the Rubicon models and can't wait to get my hands on them.

Hi. I am an American living in San Antonio, TX. I play Bolt Action buy have been playing war games fr about 45 years. Love the simplicity of Bolt Action and the infantry-oriented slant of the game. I hope they keep it that way. WW2 was an infantry war after all and despite what most Americans think, I realize it was really won on the Russian front.

I am a veteran twice, once in the US Army with the 2nd Ranger Battalion for 2 years and 5 years with the 2nd REP in the FFL.

I love the Rubicon prototypes and can't wait for the models to become available.

Hi guys,
I'm Tony. Been on the planet since 1955, been a wargamer since the late 60s. Wrote a WW2 set of rules for me and my brothers to wage war with Airfix soldiers and tanks in the loft. Got seriously into Squad Leader  in the 80's and Johnnie Reb a bit later. Spent the past 20 years as a re-enactor. Tried Flames of war, didn't enjoy it too much, same with Warhammer (too expensive). Now into Bolt Action and Hail Caesar. Got  Late War German, Late War British and Late War Soviet forces. So it seems Ive come full circle back to WW2. Just need some of these here Rubicon tanks to make a really formidable set of armies.

Hello all, I'm Matt from London, have been gaming for a looong time & have to say that these kits look great, I'll take plastic over resin/pewter any day - ease of assembly/conversion potential makes them very attractive - I eagerly await their release.
I began with WWII gaming in the 70's (20mm - 1/72 & 1/35 modelling) before moving on to the standard big company games. Have gradually swung back toward WWII & various skirmish level games (Strange Aeons, Pulp Alley, Malifaux etc).
Look forward to handing over some money!

Hey, I'm Elias and in from Cambridge in the UK.

I've been in "the hobby" for most of my life, around 24yrs now since space crusade in 1990. You name it, I've probably played it at some point.

Ex-GW staff, ex-independent store staff, current war gaming club organiser (www.facebook.com/groups/2d6lodge).

A group of 4-5 of us play bolt action and we all play different nations (luckily!), looking forward to the sherman so I can finally have a plastic 76mm and the Panzer III and Tiger I for when I start my DAK force.

Looking forward to getting one of these new tanks and seeing what else you come up with ^_^

Hi my names Jim . I've been building model tanks since the early 1970s . First Airfix , then Bandai and Aurora , then on to 1/35 Tamiya . After many years of marriage and kids  I came back to 1/35 scale tanks , and now have about 45 built . I got in to building 1/56 tanks after the local hobby shop started to bring in Bolt Action plastic kits , and I've picked up half a dozen . I don't play the game though , the fun part is building and converting the tank kit . Opening up hatches , casting spare track and adding crew figures and stowage, stuff like that . Now if I could just find the right pieces in the spares box , I'm going to start adding internal details , engines , crew seats and gun breaches ' Can't wait for Rubicon's kits to hit the market place

Hi to ALL :)!!!

My name is Igor.
I am thirty-eight years old, a husband and father of two. I live in Serbia, Lazarevac.

I started assembling and painting scale-models, drawing and painting with acrylics at an early age and turned to painting war-gaming miniatures some eight years ago. Ever since I got into war-gaming, I have worked on acquiring new painting skills and improving extant ones, learning from experienced painters, on-line tutorials and experimentation alike.

While my beginnings in this field were tied to Games Workshop’s Space Marines, I soon turned to Flames of War. I felt at home with this setting; however I always felt the 15mm scale was a bit too small. When Bolt Action appeared, I finally found something perfectly suited to my tastes in both scale and setting.

Over the past several years I have set-up a painting service and have been painting an ever increasing number of models from all major war-gaming and skirmish systems on the market. Lately, more than a few of those belonged to the Bolt Action range, which is quickly gaining popularity in these parts. The experience I accumulated while painting orders contributed to my ability to paint fast without sacrificing quality in the process.

I am proficient in the use of a wide variety of painting techniques, and frequently share my experiences and offer tutorials on my blog: http://olsianon.blogspot.com/ and on my facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/olsianon

RUBICON MODELS ARE THE BEST!

Greetings all. I'm known as Bronco_6, my old radio call sign. I just started Bolt Action and love the game. I am playing it in 28mm and am building another army in 15mm.

I will not build Germans because my natural feelings against the Nazis but I will build the Americans and fight them. I am also going to build British, Russians, French, Japanese(maybe Italians) and everyone else that I can. By the way, I have no hard feelings against those that want to run Germans either. Got to have someone to fight.

I served in the early '70's in the US Army as a Ranger in 2nd Battalion. Then I got out and hadn't gotten the wanderlust out of my system so I joined the Legion in France and spent five years in from '75-'80. Was involved in the airdrop into Kolwezi in the Congo in 1978. That got it out of my system.

Love miniatures and building figures and models and have built them professionally or "Military Modeler" and "Scale Modeler" magazine in the '80's. Have been building them since the early '60's. Been a Wargamers since 1970 at UCLA with my brother. Love the models that Rubicon is releasing and can't wait for them to come out. When? When? When?

Hi everyone!

I come from Warsaw, Poland. Aged 38, married with two kids. Iąve been in the wargaming for 15 years, starting from Warhammer, WH40K and Lord of the Rings later. In my huge collection you can find also Necromunda, Mordheim, BF Gothic, Confrontation, Waterloo or By Fire And Sword. Recently I do mostly Bolt Action and Wolsung SSG, and a bit of X-Wing (with my 9-year-old daughter  :D ).
I used to work for Games Workshop for over 6 years, being responsible for events (Grand Tournament, Golden Demon), trade and finally retail.
Besides wargaming I do re-enactment - late 14 century (Projekt 14) and cavalryman in Napoleonic (Duchy of Warsaw).

All the best to everyone - cheers!

Been playing with toy soldiers for most of my 40 years, and building models (for wargaming and fun) for most of that time.
I part-own a small UK company called Empress Miniatures and have a life-long passion for all things World War Two.

I've been watching Rubicon closely since they first announced their vehicles and am very keen to get my hands on a few!

My main interest is WW2, specifically operations on the Eastern Front in the period from Barbarossa to Fall Blau.

I have a collection of various resin pieces from a number of manufacturers, but up till now have avoided plastic because it's either been 1/48 scale modellers kits - I've done my time building multipart running gear thank you - or, if 1/56 scale, has been mid to late war, so outside my time frame.

Rubicon's decision to make the T34 with a 40/41 model option, and the Panzer III, may change that...

Especially if a 251/C appears...

Hi

My main interest is anything plastic in our hobby. Any era really, but WWI and II in 28mm are main focus.
Plenty of 28mm plastic infantry are thankfully available but vehicles is another question. I'm not a fan of resin and therefore I haven't enough armour in my arsenal.
This is about to change by the looks of it  8)

I'm 46, married with 3 daughters, living in Suffolk/ UK.
I post fairly regularly over at SD, Warlord and TMP under the same nickname.

Cheers

Hi gang.

Swedish, 40-something, two kids, been wargaming as far as I can remember even down to throwing rocks at Airfix toy soldiers in the playground sandbox. A Too Fat Lardies fan boy, old GW addict, Star Wars fanatic, model builder, also do roleplaying and a bit of LARP-ing, but as I get older I prefer staying indoors painting wee little tanks.

I game WW2 in 6mm, 20mm, 28mm and have been thinking of doing it in 1/48 scale too. Hate scale creep.

Hi everyone,

I'm 27 and I've almost finished my PhD in evolutionary biology. Modeling and gaming has been a huge part of my life since I was very young and luckily for me I have a fiance that accepts it :) I've joined up today to show my support to Rubicon for producing some excellent kits. I received my Shermans today and they are brilliant!

What we really need in historical wargaming is a company producing detailed plastic 1/56 (28mm) scale vehicles and I'm really pleased that now there is one :)

I'm Blues, 31, from Spain. I started playing Blood Bowl 15 years ago. I got some 40k figures then, I sold them in their sprues 10 years later.

I haven't played a BA game yet, but I love ww2 history (I love history, actually). I visited Normandy a couple years ago.

I'm building Red Devils, some Wermacht and SS, and I'll get some British Infantry and use them as Canadian Scottish regiment. I have no tanks, so Rubicon should be a good place to start.

Hello Folks,

I'm Julian and I live in the UK. I've always been interested in tanks and I started off wargaming with them in about 1980. I dabble in other historical periods, but WW 2 is my favourite. I'm currently recruiting a 28mm British force for Bolt Action and some 20mm Italians for Rapid Fire. It's always good to see a new manufacturer emerge, especially one with very high standards like Rubicon- please keep up the great work, folks!

Hi, I'm Hollander , born 1965, wargaming since 1980, played most if not every period / variant / type of wargaming. including Reforger 1988 (Free Lion) on the North german plain as a Sgt Squad (of if you so prefer section) leader in a  light infantry company. (All Landrovers, FN-MAG, FN-FAL, uzi, 2"mortars and stuff. I plan to build and game with it someday but can't decide if should build it in 28mm or 15mm.. maybe both?

Currently I'm into Chain of Command  from the LARDIES in 15mm scale and building a 28mm force (germans/russians and some US) slow progress, I get distracted by my family, work, PC wargames(Flashpoint Campaigns anyone?) besides that  I ride a BMW R1200 GS Adventure as an instructor teaching other riders to improve their riding skills during track days.

Besides the more "historic" wargaming like WW2 and darkages (SAGA) I also play around with SF, Steampunk and near future what if and Post apocolypse games.. mad Max 2, The road warrior, made quite an impression and desolate deserts and shanty towns are fun to build and it's even more fun to kitbash 1/64 "dark future car wars" vehicles.

That's me in a nutshell.

oh.. I'm Dutch and live in a polder some meters below sealevel on the bottom of what was formerly known as "the Zuiderzee"

Cheers,

Hello everyone.

I am Victor and I live between Asturias and the Basque country in northern Spain.
First of all, I'm not a player, I'm a modeler.
I was born in '62, and I think more or less in '63 and I started building models...
I'm a designer, but for years I work as a  professional modeller, especially works for ethnographic and archeological museums, and in this activity I try to use the 28mm scale.
In my role as hobby I like IIWW era, vehicles, soldiers dioramas... Also I make some IWW Middle age and IWW/steampunk fantasy
For me it was great news to find Rubicon Models, and although I have not yet acquired any hope to do soon.
Plastic tanks 1/56 ... a dream!

Cheers.

Hi All.

So, a bit about me... Well, let's see; I'm a wargamer, obviously, and have been for more years than I like to admit. I'm resident close to Doncaster in the U.K. Became hooked on Bolt Action a couple of years ago within five minutes of playing my first game.

The last two years I've been part of a demo group for Warlord Games taking Bolt Action round various other gamers & groups  wanting to learn how to play -  and also providing Bolt Action participation games for the public around various wargames shows. You'll recognise my group if we're doing demo games at shows as we all wear various WWII uniform. In fact most people remember the gamers in uniform before they remember us as individuals. It's an interesting way to stand out from the other games and stalls and it works, so there you have it.

My first purchase of a Rubicon model - and most definitely not the last - will be this coming Sunday at Vapnartak wargames show in York. Something I'm very much looking forward to. I've been a modeller and model engineer longer than I've been a wargamer and I tend to end up with models that 'work' as far as possible. From a scratch built, fully working, 1/72nd scale WWII U-Boat that was radio controlled, to a 1/56th scale German 88mm that comes off its limber wheels, deploys it's legs and traverses and elevates, just because I wanted to see if I could do it - I'll have a go at anything.

From what I've seen so far of Rubicon Models, I'm excited they are around and looking forward very much to what they have to offer. Can't wait to 'get stuck in!'

Hello. I'm Herbert.

I'm not much of a forum user, but I figured I might as well say hello, rather than just lurking.

I'm 31, from Australia, I am really more of a modeller than a gamer though I do enjoy a variety of miniature games. Primarily Flames of War for which I have Soviet, German and British armies. Only recently started with 28mm scale but am well on my way to having multiple armies there too. I also have stuff like Warmachine, Malifaux, Dystopian wars, and some games workshop stuff that I don't really have much interest in anymore.

Hello, all.

I'm Poul from Fredericia, Denmark.

Born 1971, been playing Roleplay games and TT wargames since 1985 (Warhammer FB 3th edition was my first true TT ruleset), still playing.

Father of five, been working in the Danish army since 1991, currently holding the rank of captain.

These days, I'm mostly into skirmish type rules, with stuff like Mordheim and now Frostgrave providing variation to my main interest, WW2 gaming.
Been around the block rules-wise, from Battalions in Crisis over Battleground WW2 up to the modern sets like Bolt Action and Chain of Command. Also dabbled with Flames of War once.

Really like CoC for it's elegant flow, and this is what I'm playing the most at the moment.
However, Bolt Action is also played once in a while, especially with my old WH buddies, who find the BA rules easier to understand, and because you can bring more stuff to bear with that ruleset :-)

Have quite a no. of WW2 scale vehicles, from the Quarter-kit/Solido/Verem diecasts over Corgi and many of the more recent resin cast companies. BUT - really love the versatility of the plastic sets, and am a big fan of 1/56 over 1/48!!!

Have a lot of the Rubicon kits, and love them.

With most WW2 28mm battles being essential infantry skirmishes, vehicles you would expect to find coorperation closely with infantry are the most useful, IMHO. Hence, I love the StuGs, SU76, Hetzers and all types of support, recon and transport vehicles, but have little use for tanks. SOmething has gone horribly wrong if tanks get tangled up in the type of fight you get in this scale.

Hi
Steve here...
Been building models of things for as long as I can remember. ..like mostly tanks and aircraft but have built some of everything over time..
Really enjoy the simplicity of these kits as I like to paint more than build these days...
Mostly interested in WWII subjects and getting into bolt action as well....

Ciao from Italia!

I'm Marco, 58, from Milan.
I started playing wargames more than 40 years ago in the very first wargame association in Italy, ARES.
Here the shameless link to our Facebook page

https://www.facebook.com/groups/ARES.MILANO/?fref=nf

During this looong period I played practically every period and age, mass battles and skirmish, any scales.
As many of the fellows here, I am/was a modeller before  than a player so, let's say that I can be labelled as "bolt counter"! ;)
Surely, today, with all the informations available on the net, it's impossible to do anything wrong!!
Although I'm totally sure that the "right colour" doesn't exists.

Speaking of games, lately I'm really fond of Toofatlardies Chain of Command (Bolt Action players, let's give it a try!!).
I own a late war platoon of US (infantry and para), British (infantry and Para), German (Infantry, SS and Para) and Russian infantry plus supports, and tanks.
I already have the minis, but I have to paint them, for Italians (infantry and para) and Afrika Korps.

I'm very interested in Rubicon kits (I already own a Panther, StuG and Sherman, and waiting for M8 armoured car), I really appreciate the possibility to build more than one version.
IMHO if the price would be a little cheaper than "you know who", that should be a blast!
And, please, add a tank commander in your kits!!

That's all!!

Ciao,
Marco

Hi my name is Jackson and I have been playing historical tabletop games since I was 10. I have always been into tanks since I was really little so model tanks became a childhood obsession. I got into rubicon when I made the jump from 15mm WWII to 28mm WWII. My current goal in modeling/gaming is to follow the 2nd SS Panzer Division through the war and build up what I hope will be a "division sized collection". Right now I am in college studying military history/theory so the collecting is slow but methodical. Still I find Rubicon kits to be very detailed, yet easy enough to put together in a small dorm room. I look forward to chatting here on the forums.

Hello,

Gordon Allen here.

I've been painting miniatures for over 30 years and putting models together off-and-on for even longer. The first tank models I ever put together were produced by Monogram, back in the 70s, and they were an unusual 1/32 scale. Included in the box was a "How to Build a Diorama" bi-fold article featuring the purchased model being painted and placed in a diorama by Shepherd Paine. Upon seeing how cool his dioramas looked, I became a life-long "tread head"!

Decades have passed, but my friends and I have recently started playing the game Bolt Action and are having a lot of fun with it. Being the case, I've started to pick up the 1/56 scale models appropriate for the force I want to play with, and I have been very impressed with what I've seen of Rubicon Models. The details are great, and I like the way you can swap parts between certain model kits to enable a player to field more types of armored vehicles - truly a company with the gamer in mind.

My first model kit that I've purchased is the M10 Tank Destroyer. I haven't put it together yet, but I'm looking forward to starting on it very soon, and will post pictures once I've painted it up!

Cheers!

I realised when I read this that I have a similar background.  I had been building plastic kits for years before I came across Mongram's 1/32 scale tanks, but it was their M3 Lee - and more particularly Shep Paine's beautifully written and illustrated guide - that converted me into a treadhead.  Sadly, I couldn't get anything close to the model in the guide, and I'll never equal his artistry.  I think 1/56 scale is perfect for modellers who don't want to spend the time and effort involved in 1/35 scale kits, and wargamers who like models a bit more substantial than 15mm and 1/72 scale.

I just found out that Shep died last year.

Hi my names Brent and the current hideout is in the shaky but sunny isles of New Zealand.

I've gamed and painted just about every genre and scale but now mostly model what catches my eye for myself and build n paint gaming tat for others. Been watching Rubicon with interest since the start and really pleased with the way the attention to detail and quality has improved but the kits remain buildable by gamers, a hard balance o meet.

Just built my first Rubicon (250alte), first of many hopefully and l'll post it up in the gallery.

Hello all!
My name is Bill Harvat and I love Bolt Action!
I live in Omaha, Nebraska and I run a Paint and Play / Campaign / League at the Game Shoppe in West Omaha.

I just recently purchased the M10 Tank Destroyer, the Sherman kit and the stowage kit from Rubicon.
I have yet to assemble the M10 but so far the Sherman is a blast to put together and I really enjoy the model!  The stowage set gives the tank great character and I can't wait to fit it into my Bolt Action army!

If you're in Omaha, NE and looking for a group to play Bolt Action with hit me up!  Also am looking forward to more great Rubicon Models to add to the collection eventually.  Can't wait to see what this forum has in the way of new releases!
Thanks!

Hello All,

I'm Sam and currently living Montana, USA. I have grown up modeling (mostly 1/35th) and after a really long hiatus (re-learning many old and now new techniques) gotten back into modeling by way of historical miniature wargaming. I've been mostly playing Flames of War (15mm), but have been really getting into Bolt Action (28mm) lately - preferring the modeling side of the hobby rather than the  gaming side. I tend to be all over the place with all kinds of hobbies and so I will go long periods of time without progress on some builds while I focus on others. Also, I often do a lot of stuff in large batches, cranking out minis in stages. Being a stickler for historical accuracy, I have been accused of a being a "rivet-counter" in the past. Like most of us, I strive for that perfect balance between accuracy and practicality... :D

Hi guys,

My name is Allen Rockwell.  I was a full time professional model maker in the aerospace industry for about 30 years until I sold my company and started GameCraft Miniatures.  GameCraft is a wargaming terrain manufacturing company located in the California desert near Palm Springs,,, and we are also very proud to be a Rubicon dealer.  I discovered Rubicon models fairly recently (in April of this year) and I was blown away by the quality.  I immediately bought a few models at the Little Wars convention in Chicago and after checking out the models carefully I immediately became a Rubicon reseller.  I'm also fairly new to Bolt Action ... I have been a Micro Armor (6mm) gamer since the late 1970's and while I still love Micro Armor, I am really having a good time working on 28mm stuff now and playing Bolt Action whenever I can find time.

My company is at www.gcmini.com

I also do a gaming podcast that you can find at www.InTheGameRoom.com

I don't know what else to say ... if you have questions for me, ask.

Hello fellow modelers and gamers.

Well, there not much to say about me other than I'm more of a gamer than a modeler. What I mean by that is that now I rarely assemble a model for just display. That being said, I have won model contests back in the days because I was a modeler before I was a gamer.

Believe it or not, I just discovered Rubicon Models and the kits they offer only recently  - about a week ago. Since my local model shops do not carry Rubicon Models, I had to order online from someplace that does have them. I placed my very first order for a few, and I am looking forward to receiving them. I hope they are as good as I have been reading about.

Hi gents, Iam new to the world of 1/56 scale, a modeller rather than a gamer , i saw a m3 halftrack and thought why not, very impressed indeed so i ordered another along with a m4a3 sherman. they could be the first of many.  Not into ww2 as such but the halftracks and shermans are amongst my favourite vehicles used by the Israelis so a few conversions are the order of the day. Eagerly awaiting the m4 and m4hybrid kits to hit the shelves, hoping the m4a1 76mm is not to far away. Just need to get hold of more easy 8 track sets.
Anyway seasons greeting to everyone

Greetings all,
Name is Daniel and currently live in Tulsa OK after being mobile in a career in the Marine Corps.  Between that and school my building time was nearly non-existent.  I am overdue for some modeling to catch up on all the kits/projects acquired during my hiatus from building.  I have several themes in my collection but the primary one is AmTracs, LVTs and AAVs in any scale of any version.  Only caveat being I stick to USMC LVTs and AAVs.
I’ve built only one 1/56 model.  It is Rubicon’s Sdkfz 251.  I was thoroughly impressed with the detail, how well the parts fit and overall build of the kit.  It was good enough that there are now several kits I’m mulling over as to which of these gems will be next to assemble.  Of course, announcement of a family of LVTs shot those to top of the list but, there are several other projects I have in mind.
Hobbies outside of models are reading, mostly military history, flying when time and finance miraculously align (I’m also a private pilot), exploring new places with a habit of being drawn to vineyards and distilleries for some unknown reason, traveling to new places as well as turning wrenches on planes, tanks or tractors.

Ive  "unofficially" helped Peter Griffin rep Rubicon at Historicon and other East coast wargaming shows here in the US. Really excited about these kits and the continuing line of new releases!  Hope I dont sound too much like a sock puppet, but Ive essentially stopped all armor modeling outside of Rubicon and 1/56th scale. any way, if you are in the States any where near Charlottesville, Virginia, look me up!

I'm Pete, based in the UK. Been wargaming on and off since the early-1980s. I was heavily into 10mm until about 3 years ago, when I started selling off my collections - I now focus on 6mm for WW2 battles and 28mm for Dark Ages, Medieval and WW2 skirmshing (with the intention of including the Jacobite Rebellion and Border Reivers at some point). I noticed Rubicon Models a couple of years ago and thought the models looked really good, but as my interest lies in the Eastern Front, particularly the early period 1941-42, there were no suitable kits at that time. However, things are looking much better now so I took the plunge and bought some recently. The first one I built was the Gaz truck and what a great model it is! I've since made one 251/1C and am in the middle of a 250/1 half-track. I have a T-34/76, Opel Blitz, a Maultier, three German anti-tank guns, plus a few more kits on order (including another Gaz so I can build the 6-wheeled variant). The only departure from Rubicon (out of necessity) is a KV from Italeri, plus three Pz-38s, but I'd have purchased these from Rubicon if they had been available.

Really looking forward to the T-26 light tank when it becomes available. Would love to see the mighty T-28 but I know that's a long-shot - it's a personal fave of mine.

Long time modeller. Wargamer for about 10 years now. Although I rarely get to play. Moved over to WW2 gaming about 4 years ago and loving it.
All things Normandy so...several armies on the go.
716 infantry division
21 PZ division
12th Hitlerjugend
Ox & Bucks British airborne
7 Bn Hampshire rgt 43rd Wessex division
41 st armoured infantry US

Oh and there's a winter German unit being tinkered with too.

If it's plastic it's on the list and the Rubicon vehicles are some of my favourites.

Thanks for letting me join.

My name is John Walker, I live in Falkirk in Scotland and I'm an Additional Support for Learning teacher in the day job.

I'm not a wargamer but I've been a modeller for these last 50 years making me part of the "Airfix Generation".

I don't build many tanks but I have a small collection of Tamiya and Airfix 1/48th scale wheeled military vehicles. I first came across Rubicon at the annual Carronade wargaming show in Falkirk a couple of years ago. My eye was then taken in particular by the CMP truck, which I subsequently bought and built. I liked what I found so I've added a few other kits over the last year or so and I've been posting work in progress threads on the Rubicon Models SIG Facebook page. I've even built a tank, the Crusader, as an 8th Army MkII in Tunisia at the beginning of 1943.

I'm currently building a Kubelwagen and I'll shortly be starting on the Sd.kfz.7 and FlaK 36.

Welcome John, we are a small community of modellers and gamers who build Rubicon Models kits as part of our hobby.  1/56 scale is a relatively new scale in the military modelling world and we want to make this scale more popular; please spread the word for us!

Hi All, all Peter.. late start wargamer, most bolt action, Saga & Star Wars legion. I also play wings of Glory And X-wing. Anyway, enough of that, I recently acquired my first Rubicon models (sdkfz 7, sdkfz 251/d, kubelwagen, 88, radio car kit for kubelwagen & the auto cannon upgrade set for the half track.
The guys on the stand at the Scottish nationals model show in Perth where super friendly and helpful and the models have been great to build. There are so many choices in some of the kits, that with a little (amateur) modding I’ve got two vehicles from one kit. I believe where possible, all my further hardware needs will be Rubicon.

Hi all,  Doug here, primarily a wargamer, though I do enjoy modelling itself. Moved back to Scotland (hi Pete!) East Coast, a couple of years back, from Australia, and have been playing Chain of Command over the last couple of years. The Rubicon kits are the best value on the market, and scratch my itch as a modeller.

Very much looking forward to the new PzIII and PzIV kits, hoping to see some future releases for my Early War forces.

I do like quirky and different, so while I like to build nice Shermans, Tigers and T34, I'd rather see some stuff like Vickers VI, T70, Comet, Marmon Herrington A/C, and so on.

Looking forward to seeing other people's work on here too.

I have a blog at http://aleadodyssey.blogspot.co.uk/ but not really much Rubicon stuff on there yet other than the Crusader.

Hi All,

Ron here, I have been building military and scifi diorama's for over 39yrs I build 1:35 scale military models mainly German and I build 1:144-1:12 scifi diorama's. I have ordered my first lot of Rubicon kits and can't wait to get my hands on them so I can build diorama's using them.

Just a example of a 1:35 diorama I have done so you can see what type of diorama's I like doing.

G'day! I build Tanks (typically Soviet and German) and other equipment. Tabletop wargames is the main deal, but I enjoy building and painting the models more than outright gameplay.

New WWII wargamer here. I had a bunch of 40k stuff as a kid but never really got into the game part of it. As an adult I started making 28mm WWII models as a distraction while finishing some schooling. I was introduced to Bolt Action and now have multiple Rubicon, Warlord, and Perry kits along with some from other less "mainstream" brands.
I love Rubicon kits and can't wait for some of the new US stuff to come out!

Hello everyone

Another older bloke here. Started modelling in the 60s with Airfix military kits and have never really stopped. Still prefer Braille scale but am beginning to find it just a bit too small. Don’t have the room, or cash, for 1/35 so been looking for something that’s just a bit bigger than 72nd. Found Rubicon almost by accident and was tempted by the recent panzer Iv offer. About to start the build and will see how I get on, but so far very impressed by what’s in the box.

Hello all, Ryan here.

I'm fairly new to model making and I don't play the war games either. I've built a bunch of models but I've found myself really impressed by the quality of the rubicon kits, first stumbling upon them in the shop at bovington tank museum in Dorset, UK. I've made the sherman m4a3e8 so far and I'm part way through the m5a1 Stuart. After that will be the panther!

I only really do small kits due to limited space and money so it's lucky I've got a steady hand and good eye sight :P

Hi everyone! I started getting into Bolt Action about a year ago, and I've become a big fan of Rubicon's offerings – my Soviets have a Studebaker and a lend-lease M4A2 that have been doing very nicely, and I'm working on a pair of T-34s as well. I've been checking the forum for a while to look at upcoming releases and so on, so I thought I'd join and say hi.

Hi Everyone,

I'm from North Wales. I disappeared travelling around Asia some 10 years ago no and when I came  back I ended up living down south wales with Mum and Dad who had moved. With little money left I dusted of all my 40k from the attic that I hadn't touch in another 10 years and sold the lot  ;D Then went and spent the money on 15mm ww2 models for Flames of War (V3). 1st box set I bought were resin IS-2s...at the time I had no idea what a T-34 was.

I moved back up North 5 years ago for better work prospects and also ended up doing commission work on the side for players at my local club.

I now mostly play Battlegroup and the occasional Chain of command or bolt action games. I started and have a wide range of 15mm Name it I most probably have it. I have a hand full of 20mm germans and have started doing 28mm, which is defenetly my preferred scale (I'm a painter at heart)

You can find examples of my work here:

Here is my introduction post. I am from Western Canada, did some service in Her Majesty’s Forces as a light machine gunner (infantry regiment), started modelling with Airfix, Esci and Hasegawa 1/72.  Prior to that I played with 54mm figures, Airfix, Timpo, Timmee, MPC and even some Marx (Knights and Vikings Carry-all playset found in the basement of our local Army and Navy store).

My first 1/72 figures were Airfix WWI American Doughboys and American Civil War Union Infantry bought for me by my Grandfather.  It has led to a long held love of and for gaming and modelling.

I picked up my first Rubicon kit last year and absolutely loved how it went together!

Hello, I'm a rather new model maker (maybe 3 years) from Worcester and a convert to table top gaming. When playing Bolt Action with some friends I noticed a friends Sherman looked somewhat better than my Warlord one... It was a Rubicon model so here I am. Not bought anything yet, I'm getting the Comet and Centurion as soon as I see them in the store. This is my latest kit, it's not Rubicon but they soon will be.

It's the Warlord Plastic with the S&S add on. Not ideal but beggers can't be choosers.

I scratched the AVRE mounts on my plastic Churchill . Not fun trying to get them mirror imaged . What do you think of the S&S bridge for the AVRE ? I want one ...

It'd make a great model but I'm unsure about its use in game... As well as transporting it :)

I would  build the bridge  separate from the tank  , positioned over a ditch / stream  type base, or maybe a crater on a beach / sea wall to be used as scenic piece . Building it in transport mode would be insane for gaming , as a diorama , it would be ok if you had the shelf space . I'm still considering getting one .

Hi there,

New to the forum but not to the models. Love the detail and the ever growing ranges.

Next in my wishlist is the
Bedford 3 ton with seated Tommies.
King Tiger.
Morris quad 4
Dingo Scout car
And the Sherman M4A1 which I think is already available.
But I will probably buy them all in one go once they are all in the shop

Good morning

I'm both a modeler and a gamer which means I tend to take my builds a bit farther than I should. I currently have three StuG IIIs and a StuH42 ready for paint, a Jadgpanther currently in progress and almost ready for priming. In addition I just completed a M4A3E2 so its ready for priming and I'm in the middle of building a M32B1.

Like most folks on this board I have a stash of kits that are just waiting in the wings ready to be built.

My historical interests center, primarily on the 21st Panzer Division (North Africa and Normandy) and the 6th Panzer Division in the east so my German builds tend to center around those divisions and their supporting units. As I move forward with my Americans I'm undecided between modeling the 3rd or 4th Armored Divisions. As my completed Shermans are starting to accumulate I'll need to make a decision so I can stock pile the appropriate decals.

Hey folks,

I built my first plastic Sherman kit sometime in the very late 1970s.  It was the old Monogram 1/32 scale M4A1.  Then I transitioned into 1/35 scale Tamiya (dabbled with 1/48 and some DML 1/72 too) tanks.  I’ve also played WOT for about 8 years.  Unfortunately, I’ve never played tanks on tables.  Recently i’ve been running out of space to display 1/35 scale tanks let alone my 1/35 dios.  So about 2 years ago I started thinking about moving down to smaller scales and that eventually led me to looking into gaming pieces to use in my dioramas.  I was pretty surprised at the level of detail some of the gaming tanks have and now I’m building 1/100 FOW and PSC.  I’ve also added some PSC to my regular 1/72 scale stash.  But as you guys might’ve noticed from my name I like Sherman tanks.  So a few months back when I learned about the wide range of Shermans that Rubicon produces it prompted me to branch out into 1/56.  I’ll admit I’ve been really impressed with 1/56, it is much smaller than 1/35 but also big enough to add detail.  I think 1/56 is the perfect scale for me in that regard.  It’s practical enough to display but not so small that it can’t be built into small dios and detailed properly.  I’m loving this scale and hopefully it continues to grow in popularity.

I recently finished the build on the M4A1 Rubicon kit as “eternity” I really wanted to build the Brit Sherman 2 variant from El Alamein but unfortunately the sand skirts were not included in the kit.  I will be buying a lot more of these little Shermans to create small vignettes with 1-2 vehicles.

Before you take that first step down the Rubicon Models rabbit hole, let me first say, "Welcome to rabbit hole".

The second thing is to say that yes, the Rubicon Models plastic vehicles are excellent model kits for the tabletop miniature gamer. Compared to the old Bolt Action resin & metal vehicles, the Rubicon Models vehicle kits are just fantastic.

I used to think the Warlord resin Kits were really nice (I still prefer them over the warlord plastics)until this Christmas when I bought dad a French Rubicon H39 resin kit, before wrapping it I had a quick peak...next level.

Hi Everyone - thanks for allowing me to join the forum.  I’m located in Southern California.  I did a lot of 1/35th scale modeling in my youth (which was a long time ago) but shifted my military-history interest to war-gaming since then.  Rubicon seems like a good fit for adding modeling back into hobby-life while still gaming.  Loving the new Vietnam kit previews - great stuff.

Morning all

Fifty something modeller, not a gamer (yet) but have been fascinated by the Rubicon models I’ve seen images of, so felt I should give them a try. Main interest is (predictably) the desert and Normandy - but I also model WW1 in other scales, aircraft, trains, you name it, if a vehicle appeals I’ll try and build it.

hello,

Long term gamer and modeller and proud owner of a dozen or more Rubicon kits. Big fan of Rubicon's work, beautiful little models that are superbly engineered, which makes them a pleasure to build. Very excited that rubicon is branching out into post-war kit, which is one of my main areas of interest.

Hello,
Long time military modeler. Came across Rubicon models and felt in love with size, quality of mold, reasonable detailing and ease of assembly. I admire how you guys offer people number of options for every vehicle.
Although I collect most, my favorite - Soviet vehicles. Would love to see armor and trucks from late 60's to modern.

Hello,

long-time wargamer and roleplayer here. I always enjoyed combining both, though rarely get to do it. But 28 mm is probably my favourite scale, because it enables me to do exactly that. Past projects usually were Word War 2 or Cold War, but I'm open to most (post-)modern war stuff from the Victorian era to contemporary.
