Wish List
« on: April 13, 2016, 02:11:58 pm »
Hi

Here are some suggestions that I would like to see:

Jagdpanther (Panzerjäger V Jagdpanther Sd. Kfz. 173)

Königstiger (Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf. B Sd. Kfz. 182)

M26 Pershing

With the German tanks I would prefer them without zimmerit, perhaps it would be possible to allow with and without in the kits?

As for the Königstiger I would prefer what is commonly referred to as the 'Henschel' version (production) over the (commonly referred to) as 'porsche' version of which only 50 were made.  Perhaps again the two different turrets could be included, but again I would prefer an option without zimmerit.

Regards

There is a thread with poll here: http://forum.rubiconmodels.com/index.php?topic=70.0

I had forgotten how long ago it was^____^.

I think the consensus was that non Zimmerit hull excluded the Porsche turret.

I now have the image of a sports car covered in tile paste...

The Tiger II is not too big . The hull is only 16 inches longer than the Panther and about 13 inches wider . Its the long mother of a gun and that huge turret that gives the illusion of it being a monster . The Churchill hull was actually longer by 11 inches   :D

It is not too long that we cannot produce the Tiger II or the Churchill.

It is a big tank, and to make them with more than one variant, it takes up a lot of sprue space
just on the principle parts - that is the wheels, the upper and lower hull, the side skirts, and the
various turrets and guns!

With the advances in mould making and digital design, we might tackle the issue again at a
later stage!  The case is still open!

Thanks for the replies.

It would be nice to see a Königstiger as a plastic kit in 28mm (no one else as yet does one) and the main production variant (Henschel turn) would be the one to do.  From the poll mentioned above more would prefer the model without zimmerit  :)

For those who would wish to have zimmerit there are zimmerit paste kits out there, perhaps Rubicon might consider this for those wishing to have their models in zimmerit?
