I know there were numerous different tracks on earlier panzers. There is an excellent u tube video by Adam Mann about that subject. Wouldn't surprise me if Panther tracks also varied. In any event it shows Rubicon's attention to detail we have come to expect.

My reference suggests 50 Renault R35's were in use by the Poles in September 1939. It also indicates there were a few (probably three) Hotchkiss H35's also in their inventory. Although very similar to the H39 I believe there were differences. Wikipedia suggests these were H39's but without pictures of the tanks in Polish service I can't be sure whether they were 35's or 39's. Anyway most potential purchasers of these are likely to building a French force and H39's will be a welcome addition to the line up.

Rubicon have indicated an interest in 1/72 and 1/35. I'm a bit surprised at the larger scale. I'm not likely to be in the market for 1/35 but if I was the attraction of the larger model for me would be the increased accuracy of the model (just as a larger soldier enables a more detailed figure). A low parts count being less important as the size increases. It will be interesting to see how successful this approach is.

You have come a long way in a short period of time. I am particular impressed with the Sherman, Panzer III & IV projects. The comprehensive nature of these is great.

I'm interested to see your interest in other scales and non WWII periods. From a wargamers perspective I think it is important to note we are likely to choose models that fit the army we are trying to create. In other words if an Italian force in North Africa is your thing you would like to obtain every vehicle available to the Italian army of the period in the scale of your choosing. I suspect a modeller is likely to be much happier with different models from different countries at different periods of time and various scales than people whose motivation is primarily wargaming.

Just an observation. Many may disagree. Keep up the excellent work.

Just to clarify. I am not advocating Rubicon become a manufacturer of metal figures. I would just prefer they concentrate on the vehicles. Preferably in plastic but agree with Pinky resin has a place for subjects that might not sell well, or for conversions. Terrain is another possibility but as with the figures I think this is a diversion from Rubicon's core talents. In the event they ever reach saturation point with WWII vehicles I would prefer to see them expand into vehicles of other periods instead of figures and terrain.

A thoughtful response elias. Chimaera and I obviously have our minds made up and whatever we see reinforces our opposite opinions on the metal versus plastic debate.

By the way a decent primer on the metal should make them as easy to paint as anything else.

My observed experience with plastic figures mirrors uvs' casualties. Broken extremities. Metal figures are so much better at absorbing battle damage.

I don't think we are anywhere near fleshed out of vehicles from any nation and hope that is where the priority will remain.

I confess, I am not in the market for plastic infantry from any manufacturer. Wargaming friends that have given plastic a try wish they had stuck with metal for this part of the hobby. Not to say my prejudice is any more valid than anyone else's of course.

I am delighted to see the inclusion of a veteran of the Polish campaign, Ausf E. Of course it is also likely to be found on the battlefield years later.

The possibility of a command vehicle is good as well.
