Work In Progress / Re: Codename: Sherman 2016 - M4A2 Sprue Layout 171114

Yeah, considering that the US only took delivery of six M4A2 76(w), it did seem strange to have US crew. That said, they would needed to have created a brand new spruce for the Russians and I understand the costs and stuff.

My plan is a US brigade.. just need Rubicon to do Chaffees to finish it off though.

Then do one of each variant on top of that.

Either downscale italieri or upscaled PSC for the vast majority.

Although italieri have made some purpose built kits at 1/56 and I heard there's a company called AK models making 1/56 for them too (I believe they do some of PSCs kits)

Their end goal is every variant of Sherman as all he parts from all their Sherman kits will be interchangable.

I just paint mine factory fresh with a wash. Can't be arsed with all the extra effort ;)

I'll be getting two of these. One for the M21 and one for the stand alone which will start the basis of a new US army for me.

Demand for true scale infantry for wargaming purposes is pretty huge to be honest.

The need to diversify is understood.  I'm just not sure where this range fits in (I assume they're not aimed at the 1/35 market).  There are niche markets for figures like this in various scales; they used to be metal but now they're mostly resin.  But these don't seem to offer anything over existing models, except being plastic.

They're proof of concepts though. They're showing off the uniforms weapons and proportions of the models. With it being rendered, they can pose them in any way they want. They're not all going to be posed liketheyre a statue.

Speaking to a lot of gamers about rubicons intentions in the 28mm miniature market, there is a lot of interest in this. In either plastic or metal.

The .30 cal was bad enough! One guy would carry the tripod, one the gun and the rest the anmo or ammo cart.

Plastic is better than resin in my opinion, but we all know there's either whole kits or potential conversion kits that just wouldn't be cost effective to do in plastic.

I think forge world (despite the price) have proved what you can do with resin/plastic hybrid conversion kits.

I'm looking forward to resin conversion kits.

Sandbags, snorkels, etc

As a younger customer, it's still appreciated ;)

I often show people the models, and people think they're vague on detail because of the dark colour. They change their mind once primed though.
