Work In Progress / Re: Digital Sculpts - Sir Percy Hobart - 161231
« on: December 31, 2016, 12:24:40 pm »
Probably the last post for 2016...

Major General Sir Percy Hobart. He is a much under-considered, and
under-appreciated general in the history of WW2. Partly because he
was a bit of a nutter, and partly because the limited action he did see
is hard to assess.

Nonetheless Hobart was one of the most important technical and
tactical developers of Allied armour techniques, and was responsible
for training the famed 7th Armoured Division (the Desert Rats) for
its early Blitzkreigs in North Africa (though he didn’t get to lead it
into battle); for training the outstanding 11th Armoured Division
– probably the best British armoured division of the D-Day to
Germany campaign (though he didn’t get to lead it into battle);
and developing and leading the extraordinary 79th armoured division
(Hobart’s Funnies) through that vital campaign. Liddell Hart said this
'hat trick' of the 3 best British armoured divisions of the war alone
made him incomparable, let alone his influence on armour overall.

Enjoy!

Work In Progress / Re: Digital Sculpts - Somebody - 161229

I just noticed the scaled-up SS chaps.  I really wouldn't recommend that route.  When scaled up, the heroic proportions become very obvious - Woll looks almost like a dwarf.  And when you get to scales above 1/35, you need a lot more detailing, including separated pieces.

We usually scale up the figures to check details and mould lines. Extra work had to be done (extra fine details and parts) before making them commercially available; but that's not our intention at the moment.

General Discussions / 2016 - A Year in Review / 2017 - Looking Forward
« on: December 29, 2016, 12:24:53 pm »

This is our second year in business.  Looking back, we don’t have too many new releases this year
– only 11 plastic kits (and 32 in total), but we had drawn a much bigger audience from both the
gaming and modelling community.  The highlight of the year being able to penetrate the Japanese
market – something many manufacturers had tried for many years and failed.  We have to say a
huge “THANK YOU” for your continuous support!

To provide better sales support, we have added several channel partners worldwide, and we have
also set up our own warehouse and webstore in the United States.  2015 had been a year of learning,
and 2016 had been a year of implementing what we’ve learnt and turned them into actions!

The “Base-kit & Add-on” idea had been proven to be a good concept to allow easy expansion of
your model collections in a more flexible and inexpensive manner.  We have borrowed this idea to
create our own “Digital Libraries” for the more common vehicles like the M4 Sherman and in the
future comparable projects.

With your support, through our channel partners, we are able to relocate to a much larger premise,
hired more design staff, and acquired more advanced digital equipment for our Hong Kong-based
design studio.  We have also invested significantly into 3D digital sculpting so that figures will now
be included with each new plastic kit we produce moving forward.

We have to say “THANK YOU” again for all your support, and be able to bring more products to the
table top for you armchair generals next year!

Work In Progress / Re: The all NEW M4A3 Sherman - TS1 Plastic Sprue 161017
« on: December 29, 2016, 11:55:57 am »
Any news? I need a e8 so bad but the other kits on the market don't seem to do it for me.

Should be Q1/17 as most of the sprues are close to completion.

« on: December 29, 2016, 01:05:52 am »
Some late night posting of Michael Wittmann and Balthasar Woll - in 1/56 and 1/18 scale.
The larger 1/18 figures are upscaled directly without any touch up. If we enhanced them
just a little bit, they can be produced in any of the more popular scales - 1/48 & 1/35 too!

Enjoy!

Work In Progress / Re: British 15cwt CMP Truck - Bren gun 161223
« on: December 23, 2016, 02:33:15 pm »
We pay special attention to make sure our hand weapons scaled
nicely with our vehicles and figures... yet not over-scaled!

This Bren gun is an good example - the cyan one is exactly 1/56,
the blue one is 1/53, and the green one is a mix of 1/56 (body)
and 1/53 (stock and barrel) to get a good balance of scale and
practicality... we are insistent on details and quality!

Enjoy!
