General Discussions / Panzer stowage location?
« on: May 12, 2022, 07:00:29 pm »
Has anyone found instructions for where the stowage included on the sprues of later Pz III and IV kits should go? The tarp/tent rolls in particular have indentations on the back that seem to suggest a particular location is intended but I'm still looking!

General Discussions / Out of Stock Items
« on: July 18, 2021, 05:30:00 pm »
There's a few things gone out of stock, and I think Rubicon have explained that's due to some of the supply chain disruption of Covid and what have you. But specifically ...
- is the T34/76 coming back into stock at some point or is it being re-designed?
- there's some of the pewter or resin items also gone out of stock, but presumably a different reason for that if not coming from China? Or does it?

Wish Lists / Early model StuG III
« on: June 03, 2021, 06:59:17 pm »
I assumed somebody would have asked for this before, but having scrolled back I don't see it. Isn't it rather an obvious gap in the range? Nobody else does one in plastic, and it's great for a whole variety of early to mid-war scenarios, right up to D and E variants in Stalingrad. I don't know enough about the development of the basic hull but couldn't it be done as a conversion pack to the existing StuG ?

Wish Lists / 2 small requests on Commonwealth AFV crew
« on: March 01, 2021, 10:47:38 pm »
1. Could you redesign the sprue in your Sherman kits so the two heads for the hull hatches have headphones on too? That's how the commander passed orders to them ... no such problem with your US crew heads who all wear the 'hockey helmet' type AFV crew headgear.
2. Could you include a couple of UK AFV crew helmets on the sprue - for the Sherman but also if you're re-doing the allied stowage? You see these hanging off the vehicles in so many 1944-45 pictures, and the shape is quite different to the Mk II and Mk III infantry types.

Wish Lists / Decal sheet for stowage packs
« on: March 02, 2020, 03:26:03 am »
Any chance of a small decal sheet to go with Allied and German stowage? I'm thinking of the markings on ammo boxes and indeed some of the fuel cans. Basically I am rubbish at painting these markings!

General Discussions / Go Greener?
« on: March 27, 2019, 05:11:51 am »
Very happy to receive a couple of Rubicon models (Sdkfz 250/9 Neu, German stowage, and British CMP truck) and now building away.
But boy oh boy there's an awful lot of packaging. I mean that little half track is quite a small vehicle when finished but had five plastic bags (six if you include the decal sheet) and two boxes. The truck has four plastic bags, five including the decal sheet. I love your minis but am also worried about the planet ...

1. Can you do something to reduce the amount of plastic? maybe wrap the box in cellophane and not the sprues individually or bag in paper?

2. Single boxes for those bundled kits?

3. And Heaven knows you must think about sprue design because there's an obvious incentive for you to save money on raw materials but are you limited by standard sizes when creating them? There's often a lot of wasted plastic.

any thoughts?

Wish Lists / Street / Farm accessories
« on: October 11, 2018, 07:31:17 am »
Since you guys want to go the scenic accessory route - why not try some stuff that we search and search for but aren't easy to locate ...

1. Street accessories: frames would include bicycle (how hard are they to find?!), telegraph pole or two, street signs, maybe a handcart, possibly some tools.

2. Farm accessories: to include ladders, farm tools such as rakes, scythes you name it, baskets full of produce, maybe some barrels or casks, small wagon or wheelbarrow.

Some of these things are available in resin and some in mdf (have you assembled an mdf wheelbarrow? they are lame) but sets that combine them at reasonable price are not. They would sell to warmers, diorama builders, and people just wanting to super detail their armour also. A tank might well be carrying a liberated bicycle and some farm produce in addition to its military supplies ...
just a thought anyway
