WIP of yet another diorama by our studio staff Rico Chia. Noted the well-defined outline and details of our M4 Sherman (280060) plastic kit.
The M4 was partially converted, you can follow his progress by heading over to our RM Community page where Rico will update his work often.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/RubiconModelsCommunity
We will also update Rico's progress here, even though less frequently.

Nice work on those lifting rings and brush guards.
Nice painting, especially on the periscopes.
Might need to change the smoke mortar charges from black powder ^___^.

Still a long way to finish this diorama, here are some images of the M4:

As UVS said , nice work on the lift rings and light brush guards . Are the guards thinned plastic or photo etch thin pieces of brass ? And I think you forgot the lift rings on the rear of the turret …… Depending on which factory version you want to depict , they could be high or low on the bustle .

Ignore the outlined pistol port

Good point Ripley.
Are D50878 turrets moulded in one piece?
-
Yes the turrets are sand cast in one piece . Then the casting lugs are ground off and the hatches , turret race , etc are milled

Can't find a picture of a turret " in the raw state " but here's a T-34 cast turret picture I've got handy , and if Ivan could do it , the Yanks could too

Real nasty casting lugs to remove ,kind of reminds me of a 1970s vintage Italeri kit
-
I have had a number of more recent resin kits like that ^__^.
-
LOL . that's one of the reasons I'm not a fan of resin . Not all resin kits are nasty , it just seems the neat 2nd hand vehicle kits I find at hobby shows for a great price are really bad . Probably why they're for sale at a low price ….

The final version of the M4 Sherman for our studio diorama is now completed.
The M4 Sherman (280060) is fitted with stowage from our Allies Stowage Kit (280033). Next step will be adding some tank riders on top of the war machine. More WIP images soon. Enjoy!

This is Phase 1 of our Studio Diorama "At the Crossroad" by Rico Chia...
Talking about scale and human proportion, our figures are true-to-scale and that's why we can fit them all on top of a Sherman tank just like in real life!
Count them yourself - we have 16 US infantrymen, 1 tank commander and 2 tank crew on top of the Sherman, and that includes the extra stowage that we had posted previously. Everything is from our own Rubicon Models product range too!
Some figures are slightly converted or customised to create the interactions needed for this diorama.
Figures are from:
284020 US infantry patrolling (pewter)
284035 US infantry shooting (pewter)
2840xx US infantry scouting (pewter)
284053 LVT-2 & LTV-4 crew (pewter)
284066 US tank riders (pewter)
284001 US infantry seating set 1 (pewter)
284002 US infantry seating set 2 (pewter)
284070 US tank crew (plastic)

"At the Crossroad" by our studio staff Rico Chia.
This particular diorama took Rico 12 working days to complete; including all assemblies, conversions and painting.
The German POW is from an upcoming multi-pose pewter 3-figures blister pack.

Great work. Especially the weathering. It does look a bit as though the tank is charging into the prisoners...

Love the POW set . Any chance of another set in greatcoats with some personal gear ? Just check out the videos of the army of POWs marching down the Auto Bahn for inspiration
