Title: morris cs8 15cwt
Post by: lou passejaire on October 17, 2014, 10:32:27 pm
The 15cwt GS truck was the first type of vehicle to go into mass production when full mechanisation of the British Army was undertaken in the 1930s. It was designed to carry the heavy personal equipment of an infantry platoon, such as blanket rolls, large packs, extra ammunition and rations. Morris-Commercial were first into production in 1934, with their CS8 Mk1, which was in quantity service by 1936. Minor changes were made to the front wings, bonnet and radiator during its production life before it was replaced by the C4 Mk 1, which had better weather protection.

Saw action with the BEF in France, in Norway, with the commenwealth forces in North Africa , Erytrea, Syria lebanon, and it seem's to be still in use in 1944 .

It was used by the Free French 1st Division from 1940 to 1943 .

was used as water carrier in the western desert, as a radio truck, etc ... ( and you don't need to produce variants , IMO, better a 2 trucks in a box, and we'll convert them  ;D )

and there is only an expensive resin model of this truck ... ;)

is it this kind of wish you need, mister rubicon ?

Put me down for a couple of those.

I would also buy 2-4 as long if they come with a canvas cover and are not the really early spec.
I would be wanting to use them in 1943/1944 Italy & NW Europe games.

I wouldn't be in the market for more 15cwt trucks for myself, as I'm currently in the process of converting resin Morris trucks into Canadian Military Pattern ones.  However, I do think the CMP truck would be a better choice than the Morris.  It was used by all Commonwealth nations and Russia.

Once you have the cab design done, then you can swap in other body styles, and larger bodies.  And I'ld be in for a 30cwt CMP!
