The flat bumper piece is shown in both the CCKW and Studebaker kit plans but isn't include on the spures , a small over sight by Rubicon .  I would just add a piece of plastic to fill the gap and your good to go

According to the plans diagram , the flat bumper part is used to complete the winch installation , so you've already used it

Wish Lists / Re: Early model StuG III

It would be nice to have an early version or two but I really doubt we'll see any in plastic , maybe one day  in resin from Trechwerx or Der WaffenKammer  . The problem is that they , like the early Pzr III and IVs look so much alike with only a cosmetic change to the hull sides or extra armour plate .  While some of us can spot a C or D version from a grainy black and white photo , to your average guy there's no difference and they'll make do with whats easily available . Maybe if 28mm had a larger fan base , say like 1/35 scale , we would get variants . Tamiya brought out a B ( ?) to compliment their other early war tanks , as well Bronco released a D (?) with the rear fender air filters , a type of which 6 were sent to North Africa , again expanding their desert war line . Maybe if more companies got into making  28mm plastic kits , we might get some of our missing favorites. There are more companies making plastic figures ( just saw a plastic Cowboy sprue and WW1/2 French  ) so maybe one day , they'll branch out into tanks and trucks , not that I'm going to build all the kits I have now , but I can always add to the stash just in case

The JS III  really appeared too late to fight in the war  , but it did scare the hell out of the Allies  when it showed up in the Victory Parades in Berlin . I'ld rather have a JS 122/152  SPG

I saw the Trenchworx kits on Warlord's site . They run about $110 - $130 Canadian each  :o , for that kind of money I could get 3 plastic Churchills and a goodly amount of plastic strip / pieces and build my own . If Rubicon did release they're own Churchill then they could do some expansion packs for the AVRE large  bits , bobbin , bridge, ark , etc . Probably better to do that than make add on kits for other company's products as is the norm in the 1/35 modelling world , 1/56 being rather limited .
On a hobby shop road trip yesterday I picked up another Churchill , as I'm going to order the S&S bridge kit , for a diorama / scenery piece I want to build . Love the Churchill
Yes a Mark I / II plastic kit would be great as well as a VII / Croc , Rubicon has released stuff that has already been covered by others , so who knows . Probably have to wait a while as they seem to be fixated Nam right now  :D

The Warlord / Italeri  is pretty good kit that Rubicon probably couldn't make much better . With the 2 turret styles and the 5 or 6 gun options its a winner IMO , really just needs the AVRE side mounts and redesigned mg's hatch for the Petard loader , but that's  really easy kit bash .

This is mine from last year . Also S&S Models (UK) have the AVRE pieces in white metal , sold  with / without the plastic Churchill , plus they have the bridge kit !!! , so really the AVRE is covered unless someone decides to do other "Funny " versions  ( Bobbin etc ) in plastic

I used the " Stummel " expansion kit to make a 234/3 , and I bet the long gun /4 version  could be kit bashed easy enough as well if you  didn't mind wasting half a 75mm gun kit

All I can find is this WIP photo , I seem to have "cleaned  out " my photo library and deleted a bunch of stuff ::)

Probably could be done with one hull shell if the various styles of air intakes . hull side doors  , and turrets were separate pieces . Rubicon has done something similar with the various Sherman , T-26 and Tiger kits  . I could always use a few more Churchills

I've never seen a picture of any T-34 variant carrying spare wheels , has any body ? Missing wheels , yes , spares , no  . Panther wheel sets , YES ! There are pictures from the early war of them carrying a spare drive sprocket and sometimes a transmission  :o . Also if the spare road wheels "were" carried they would be bolted together in a pair like you see on the  modern day Russian mine clearing vehicles

I thought that Israeli tracks were based on the M5 version which they got from Ex British stock ?

The SU-76 used a longer hull , 6 road wheels as opposed to 5 on the T-70 . It would be easy enough for Rubicon to make a generic hull / wheel , track sprue ( both lower hulls , 6  pairs wheels , extra track links ) that could be used with either the upper hull sprue of a SU-76 or T-70 kit .  Many of their Sherman's have universal sprues of which you only use a few bits depending on the version your building ( turrets , fenders , etc ) I hope they think about it ,as I really like both those vehicles

Might be a little to "new" to find a place in Rubicon's product line , although they came into service about 55 years ago .  But I'ld  buy a couple in 1/56  ;D

Tankograd has a  reprint of the M5/A1 tech manual with interior pictures and diagrams . David Doyle Books has a couple of great volumes  on the Stuarts , vol 2 is the M5/A1 ,( no idea if there are interior shots ) both go for about $20 US .  All I have is a diagram of M8 drivers compartment , should be the same as M5 minus the bow mg and a cross section diagram .

I would think all the37mm ammo racks would be removed , extra radios mounted in the sides , plus ammo cans for the 50cal . Probably  a sheet metal / wood cover for the drive shaft or maybe metal plate  floor . The M5 had a turret basket so stuff underneath it would be  exposed and hazardous to ankles  :o

The Warlord resin kits I've seen lately are in need of a little TLC with lots of bubbles and flash ( old molds ? ) . Better to check out Company B or Die Waffenkammer , as they both make very nice Lee/Grants .

Very nice , a couple there I hadn't seen before . That 1st  picture gives a nice turret top view which when blown up shows it didn't have a loader's hatch, at least that's what I see . I would think the dead guy had no part in the destruction of the tank , unless he was killed by another tank / troops while running away , he's way out of Pfaust range for that Sherman . Might have build the tank in 1/35 as Bronco and a couple of other companies have single link track sets that would work as fire damaged ,  in 1/56 , not a chance  ::)
